One of the volunteers at the library where I work turned 80 on Monday. I used a Debbie Brown design and added the Orioles hat because the birthday girl is a huge fan.

This was a chocolate cake with buttercream icing (choc buttercream for words and border....MMF bag and worms, smashed cookies for dirt

Shame on me, I forgot to take a pic of this cake....luckily, the customer took one and sent it to me....but that was after my husband delivered the cake and accidentally scraped off part of the top border with his jacket....yeah, he's in trouble! :0)

I made this cake for a friends boss. I of course got the idea out of the idea files here! She loved it. It was half white and half chocolate. All buttercream icing. The "dirt" is chocolate graham crackers crushed. I added some gummy worms and it looked yummy!

Loved the way this cake turned out. The plan was to make it more like one I saw on here, but once I just put the light gray icing on, I thought it looked so realistic, I didn't want to add more borders etc. Didn't really want to put the oreos and worms on it, but that's what the customer wanted. Gives me ideas for Halloween :-) Cake is pineapple and whipped icing.

I made this for a co-worker who's daughter is 2 today. She loves bugs!! I tried to make it as girly as possible. :0)

It's carrot cake with the crusting cream cheese icing recipe from this site. I put 2 loaf pans end to end and used a scrap hunk for the top part of the log sticking up. The bugs and flowers are made of gum paste (my first time playing with this) and everything is edible except for the bee stingers and the butterfly antennae.

Thanks for looking!

I am a children's librarian, and recently held a "cake decorating" workshop at the library, where the kids got to decorate one of four "cupcake styles". Over 150 kids showed up. I chose simple designs that even the younger kids could handle. We used chocolate icing for the base. Ground-up chocolate cookies were sprinkled on top. Using a straw, 2 holes were poked into the cupcake and gummy worms inserted.

This woman came to me wanting a very gothic style cake for her Corpse Bride party...I would have liked to put the figurines on it myself at least to take a photo, but I left them in the box as requested. They're a little hard to see, but we have a few worms here and there, black roses, bats...etc. They totally loved it. :D Oh, and the girl was turning 13.

This was a fairly easy cake to make. I stacked three 8 inch round cake and carved to create more of an apple shape. I decide to cover this cake with fondant, but you can easily cover in red buttercream. I used a red gel food color mixed with vanilla extract and painted onto the fondant. This is what creates a bright red color. The stem, worm and leaf were all made out of fondant.

This cake did not turn out as I had planned but the kids I gave it to loved it. I actually got another order from one of the kids mom's to make one like this for his birthday. That was quite a surprise.

Tried to make a leaf cake using the heart shaped pan. Using a bundt pan, I made the caterpillar. I cut it in half and placed the pieces opposite of each other. Chocolate chips for the feet, M&M's for eyes, licorice for antennaes.
