I made this cake for my mothers work place. It doubled as an office christmas party, and a birthday party cake. I wasn't planning on putting the snowflakes around the side, but the birthday girl was there when I was placing the snowflakes on... I think it turned out ok like that thou.

I did this cake a few weeks after I finished wilton classes. Buttercream frosting for all of it and used shimmer dust to make the igloo sparkle. Cake was chocolate with peppermint filling. At the time I made the igloo w/ just a mound of frosting but I think using the mini ball or sports ball pan would make it easier.

This was for my husband's office. 9 x 13 Chocolate cake with Grand Marnier flavored Italian Meringue "buttercream" filling and icing. The filling had orange marmalade added. The snowfamily is fondant.

Cake is Italian Cream with cream cheese filling. I frosted it in buttercream then used a stencil to "emboss" snowflakes on both tiers. This would have worked better with fondant but person ordering it didn't want fondant so this is what I got. Worked better than I expected. The black ribbon and bows are made of gumpaste. I then sprinkled the whole cake with crushed edible glitter for that sparkle.

This was a shared cake for a 22 year old and a 78 year old. The customer wanted a cake that was fall and Christmas like, because the 78 year old was born in the fall and the 22 year old was in the winter. The writing says "Happy 22nd Birthday Tony and 78th Birthday Grandpa O. All our love, your family."

There is glitter sprinkled over these to make them sparkle, but it didn't really show up on the picture.

Yes, my time was becoming very limited last week with 11 orders of cookies due....about 850!! I did the fondant basecoat and used my royal and sanding sugar on top.

I have to say though, it didn't save me a ton of time on these 250 snowflake cookies...and I was really worried that the royal icing was so much easier to chip off than on a basecoat of royal icing. Fast? Well, a bit. Easier? Not in my opinion.

Hands down my favorite cake. Got the idea on this site (thanks!). The penguins, fish and igloo tiles are fondant. Trees are sugar cones. Water is piping gel with blue food coloring. The igloo is the Wilton barbie doll cake pan (the dress). The cake was very time consuming but did not take much skill at all.

Polar bear Christmas party cake for a work friend. Inspiration cake from ShirleyW's polar bear cake and TooMuchCake's polar bear cookies wearing sweaters. Bears made from gumpaste and wearing fondant sweaters..painted with food colouring and fine paintbrush..border is meant to look like swirling snow..hope I achieved that... My friend wanted chocolate and something wintery so this is what I came up with. Also great help in the forums with suggestions. I am proud of this cake.

Pale (Sky Blue Wilton) buttercream, white trim and cake sparkles accents. The snowflakes are freehand. I figured the snowball trim would be a good simple match.

My mother, Catherine McClung, is the artist of some holiday dinnerware by Lenox china called "winter greetings." She is having a luncheon tomorrow and wanted a cake to match her china. I hope I did her proud! I was really afraid the cardinals would look "cartoonish." I am doing another one of these for a friend of hers at the end of the week and I think I may do something a little different on the top tier. The cardinals are chocolate transfers. I traced the image off of the bowl that I had.

I made this cake yesterday for our church's Christmas party. It was white cake with raspberry mousse filling and white chocolate BC. Really yummy! The white choc. BC is definitely a new fave! For the snowflakes, I just freehanded the pattern on the wrapping paper that the cake board is covered in and then sprinkled the whole cake with shimmer dust. Simple but pretty.

What fun this was! And nothing went wrong this time lol. Got idea from gallieries. White choco cake 2 layer, and White as snow frosting from here (Awesome recipe). MMF snowman. Was for lady whose commercial kitchen I'm going to use when I go into biz one day! Oh only prob was found out at 2am I had no more green when I went to do trees (had yellow/blue though lol). You can't tell from pic but I sprinkled sugar mixed with gold dust on the trees etc for snow. I will find out today how they liked the cake.

I made this for a party the other night. German Chocolate cake with mint buttercream and MMF. I used an 9" round and 8" square pan and then carved them. This was SO EASY! And, it renewed my faith in MMF after my wedding cake disaster. It was a hit at the party - and again... EASY!!!

3-tier (8-6-4) with graduated shades of blue BC icing. Royal icing snowflakes painted with Bluebell disco dust. Clear sanding sugar is on the top of each layer along with a generous amount of bluebell disco dust dusted all over. The picture does not show the true shine of this cake.

This is a practice cake. I wanted to try the royal icing on fondant to see how it looked, taste, and how it would cut. I got the indea from a cake decorating book. The cake is yellow with cherry buttercream filling.

Here's the dairy-free chocolate cake I made for my daughter's Brownie Troop. One of the girls is allergic to milk and milk products so the whole thing had to be dairy-free and I spoke with her mom to make sure I was using the correct recipes/products. In the middle of decorating this morning I received word on a death in the family so I didn't do all the finishing touches I normally would have.
