This is my Finale Cake for the Wilton Course II class. The butterflies are colorflow. The flowers are royal icing. The basketweave and icing is buttercream. I thought it was pretty..

This cake developed cracks in the frosting and a huge earthquake-like crack down the center by the time I got home. See that picture in the Cake Disasters forum in thread called "Earthquake Cake...".

I'm pretty happy with how this cake turned out except for the scroll-y things on the bottom layer. Oh well, too late now! I'm so glad to be finished with the classes and am anxious to bake more cakes!

I just made this cake to practice what we've been learning in my Wilton I class. I got the idea out of the Wilton I book, but added the roses I did the night before.

Not the color combination I had planned on using, but I wanted to use up some frosting left over from a baby cake I did last weekend. I was short a few roses, but overall I'm really happy with this! I did have one 'smooshing' accident during transport on the bottom border, but I can live with that.

Everything is done according to the Course 2 final cake. The basketweave is tricky, but got it done. Had to finish at home but had a great time! Can't wait until Course 3.

This is an old picture I found - I did this as my final cake in the Wilton training classes I took at Hobby Lobby. Look familiar anyone?? I think everyone makes the same one! :o)

I made these for my daughter's first birthday. I used the Wilton Pooh pan for the big one and then just used a knife to cut a similar dhape for the smaller one.

Vegan devil's food cake, chocolate buttercream filling, class buttercream icing & decor, used egg replacer instead of meringue powder-which didn't keep the colors from bleeding, by the way. Broke one layer in half taking out of the pan, so I torted the remaining half, sat them side by side & as a result have a 1 1/2 layer cake!

This cake is the product of my first Wilton decorating course. I decorated this cake on the final night of Course 1.

My final project for Course II, also my mother's birthday cake. Chocolate chip cake with chocolate buttercream, royal flowers. I'm pretty pleased with the result. I was really dreading the basketweave and didn't expect it to come out as well as it did.

Wilton Course III first cake. I made it, but didn't have enough class time to do the border. I went off for a business trip and when I came home four days later the thing had just about melted. Yay!

This is my finale cake from Wilton Course III. It is the regular 10" and 6" tiered cake with fondant roses, but I decorated the sides with white chocolate idea I got from Cake_Princess. Thanks CP!

I made this in my Wilton's class... The entire class had terrible trouble with our royal icing and all our color flow died a very sad death... But I came home and made the beautiful butterfly then dropped my royal flowers and my color flow butterfly on the flower it was rather sad... But my teacher assisted and the basket weave is perfect...

Can you tell which Wilton level I'm in? That's right!! Level 3. I just wanted to practice the techniques we learned last night, as well as the upside down frosting technique. I took the color combination from a ribbon (the upper border) I had bought for trim for my daughter's dress and never used. I like the cake, but am happy it is only as big as it is, the lighter green just seems so drab. The cake itself is an attempt at an egg nog flavored cake with cranberry filling.

This is my present cake from Wilton Course III. The color flow stamp broke (ARGH!) and the cake slid on the way home, so the bead border is screwy. My fondant isn't perfect, but it was my first so I'm not too upset. The hard part of the fondant was tucking the corners so it really looked like a package - sometimes it pulled or sagged a bit too much. All in all I'm pleased and I know my daughter will love seeing her name on a cake.

I did this back in late July. I LOVED doing this cake! It was so fun.
It was a red velvet cake and the icing job leaves much to be desired!! But hey ya gotta start somewhere!

This is my course three final cake. I was sooooo proud of it! I used a diamond impression mat and edible pearls that I dusted in super pearl dust. My roses are fondant and each one took me no less than thirty minutes because I'm new at making them too.

This is my first cake from the class. I couldn't get my icing to crust so it looks a bit homely. But it was filled with love!

I decided to be unique when it came to making this cake. I wanted to come up with unique colors. The yellow icing on the side is the natural color of the CB Neoclassic Buttercream recipe.

For the final cake of Course I, I really wanted to but my own spin on the rose cake. I decided to make it lavender because it's my MIL's favorite color. She's going through Chemo and it gave me the chance to send positive thoughts her way the whole time I worked on the cake. In the end, the roses are a bit too dark - they don't photograph very well!

I couldnt upload this to the thread we were discussing it in so I put it here. The bow was made in class and that is why it is so flat.
