I made this for my sister-in-law to be who's birthday is on the Fourth of July. The bottom layer is white with a lemon filling, covered in whitefondant with red stars. The middle layer is chocolate with a vanilla filling covered with buttercream frosting and rw&b M&M's. Top layer is yellow with chocolate filling, with butter cream frosting, and cut-out white and red fondant stars. I was up until 3 am making this, but I loved every minute of it!

This was a challenging cake to make. The fondant was topped with chocolate transfer sheets. Tricky because you have to try to match up the seams as close as possible. I'm sure that if you do this frequently, it won't be a problem. The ribbons are fabric (per the bride's wishes). The inside was chocolate butter cake filled with white chocolate buttercream.

Cake with KU colors, thought it looked a little like a clown cake! Customer seemed happy. Not too happy with my not so smoothe icing, but she raved. Also, didn't take my repair kit and of course 2 of the blue strings on the bottome broke, one in transit and one by the customer after transit. lol. Won't forget my repair kit again!

Mother-to-be's chosen theme was Care Bears, with pink and white as the chosen colors. Cake was made in the shape of an umbrella, with the baby's name across the back of the cake, and the parents names and best wishes on the top. The cake was strawberry banana, tinted pink, with buttercream frosting. The cake board was covered in pastel colored baby footprints wrapping paper, covered with clear contact paper. Along the board were pink and white chocolate rattles, diaper pins, teddy bears, rocking horses, etc

This is a cake I made for my SIL. It is a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and a fondant bow. This was my first time ever working with fondant so I'm happy with the way the bow turned out.

This was my second attempt at a cupcake bouquet. I tried just piping the icing on the cupcakes. These are white cupcakes with yellow icing. I think the container and bow made this look better than my first. Please share your honest opinions about my work. I am new, and I have a lot to learn.

Made just for fun this past Thanksgiving! It's a pumpkin bundt cake. I tinted a good amount of white chocolate
candy coating orange and then melted it until it would run down the sides. The center stem is an upside
down ice cream cone that I iced with chocolate icing from a can. The green leaves are gumdrops that I
flattened and cut out in the right shape.

Chocolate amaretto cake w/ bavarian filling. I finally realized a tip to making MMF smooth! Ha, live and learn. It's to make the mmf a day ahead. I normally make it the same day & use it right awya and could never get it smooth or from ripping. But I used leftover MMF for this cake and it was soo much easier and was just like how I see on TV. I know it's not 100% smooth but it is a huge improvement from my cakes before.

Every time I make a cake, my almost-three year old daughter asks me if it is for her so, this weekend I decided to make one specially for her. She had minor surgery during the week and was really brave and she LOVES Sow White so, this was for her. It's not my best work but she loved it!!!!!

This was a 2-layer cake, for a 4th of July party. Iced in buttercream and accents are fondant. Top layer of cake is white with a raspberry cream filling and bottom is marble cake with a chocolate ganache filling. Sorry for the poor photo quality... the light was terrible where the party was and I ended up setting in on the floor thinking the light was better, but there was still a big glare.

Sponge & Marengue layers with buttercream filling and icing. Melting in your mouth. It was not meant for anything in particular. Just wanted to try decorator's buttercream and remind myself how to pipe roses :).

This is the cake I made for my dad's 50th. birthday. It is a white almond sour cream cake and and chocolate fudge cake covered in MMF. My dad is a couch potato and a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, which is why there are royal icing cardinals on the side of the cake. The custom cake topper is made from polymer clay, which was made by a seller from EBay. This was my first attempt at using any kind of fondant and my first attempt at using dowels and stacking cakes.

I am trying new recipes for cake. I made a different white sour cream cake recipe using butter instead of oil. The frosting is chocolate hazelnut buttercream. My students and fellow teachers said they were very good. My husband said they enjoyed them at work, but that I needed to send more. I am looking forward to using this recipe again when I bake my final cake for my gumpaste class. I am making a three -tiered wedding cake using the inspiration from this site. Thank you!!!!
