This is a cake that I did for my husband. I think he was just making up something to see if I could do it. I just started taking classes in June and he said all of my cakes were easy..so he maed up this cake for me to make. He said he wanted his cat midnight, dressed up in a spiderman costume, shooting a web out of his paw and sitting in a spider web. Well I did the best I can. For his paw I made it out of fondant. And those little white spikes out of his paw is suppose to be a web made of fondant.

This is the 2nd time I made a tiered cake and THIS time I remembered to put a dowel rod in the middle! Arrived intact to it's destination!! Bottom tier is banana with caramel/nut filling, top tier strawberry with strawberry mousse filling. All edible except for the spider's legs and the ribbon at the base of the top tier.

I made this for a colleagues grandson who was a huge spiderman fan. It has been one of my most popular cakes which I have reproduced quite a few times.

I made this for my son's 4th Birthday. Not perfect, but he will be so very excited about it! I did the 10" cakes in Chocolate and the arms are in Lemon. I also did a small side cake that is Lemon. It just has a spiderweb on it. I used the instructions posted on a blog. It was great!! Thanks everyone!

My version of the 3D Spiderman. I have to give credit to this website http://frostingfun.blogspot.com/ for giving instructions. The head is a round styrofoam ball. I couldn't find a wig head. The cakes are 8" for the body and 6" for the arms.

Used Wilton Spiderman pan. Doubled the height of the cake by baking 2 cakes and leveling the bottom one. Added spider web for added 3-D effect!

Do you ever take a cake 1 step too far and wish you hadn't? This cake looked so much cooler before I put the white '5's on the bottom red section. :( I do still like it, just wish I had stopped a little sooner! LOL

Baked this cake for my son to celebrate his 7th birthday with his classmates in school. Borrowed the idea from a book but altered the design to resemble 2 pieces of logs put together & topped with 7 spiders. Spiders, webs & dried leaves are made of chocolates.

The inspiration for this was a Candle holder. It's classy but at the same time evokes the spirit of halloween. :-)

Wanted to try a tilted cake - but decided to make a "practice" cake before trying to make one for a customer. This is amaretto and almond (separate layers) with coconut buttercream icing. Not the greatest combinations, but like I said, this was an experimental cake.

It's been a little since I did this one for my son and daughter's preschool playgroup Halloween Party. It was a single layer yellow cake and I used the rest for the cupcakes as I needed one to do my hairy spider! :) He was just iced in chocolate and covered in chocolate sprinkles. The cake was also iced in chocolate with orange for the web. I cheated and did circles and pulled a toothpick through them from the center. On the cupcakes I used cookies and various candies. Thanks for looking!

My SIL suggested I post these pictures of cookies for my daughters halloween party at school. I used the rolled chocolate cookie recipe with Antonia's icing. I usually just lurk on this site. All of you are so talented.

This cake is for a very small wedding (12 people) on Halloween. The bride and groom and all of the guests will be in full costumes. Unfortunately, the order was only given to me 3 days before Halloween, so I couldn't spend the time I normally spend on a wedding cake! The cake is chocolate butter filled with mocha buttercream. I covered the cake with chocolate fondant dyed black and made the ghosts out of fondant. The webs are royal icing. I purchased the sugar decorations due to the late notice.

Chocolate cake with buttercream decorations. I had a lot of orange icing left from another cake so I combined designs from Maplecakes and Subaru for a cake for the office mangagers at my daughter's school.

Slightly larger version of a cake I did before, in orange. I had given away the experimental white version and she came back to request a larger version for her office party. 10" tier is white cake with guava buttercream filling, 8" is carrot cake with cream cheese filling, 6" is chocolate with raspberry buttercream filling. Buttercream icing.
