This was a 10" round bottom, with the "doll dress" cake on top, but I cut it down to a diameter of 8", and rounded-off the top. I put it on a board & off-set it, so part of it was off the back of the 10" cake, to give more room for "ocean & waves". This was a really fun cake, thanks for looking!

This was a cake for a little girl turning two. Her room was decorated with the surfer girl line from Pottery Barn so I used that as inspiration for the bottom tier. The topper is a wave I made to look like a two from the side. Later I added a hand sculpted Dora and Backpack surfing on the back of the wave. Forgot to take a pic though. Maybe the customer will send one?

This cake was adorned with mmf starfish and shells made from a fondant mold. I airbrushed them lightly to give them a realistic look. Waves piped on cake and pressed flat with cornstarch-dipped finger.

I made this for my niece's 15th birthday. She wanted ocean/palm beach theme. I hope she likes it!

Top tier is vanilla BC with crushed vanilla wafers. Bottom is fondant covered. All cakes are chocolate with choc BC filling. I frosted lightly the day before and let sit overnight. Also kept filling icing stiff...hope fondant does not bulge. Waves are fondant with BC outline. Seashells/dolphin/chair and umbrella are fondant.

This is my biggest project to date. I am really pleased with it!

The sheet cake is a light lemon cake with raspberry filling. The wave is carved from a white chocolate pound cake. Frosted in buttercream, with graham cracker crumb sand. The people are buttercream, the sand castle is made from a buttercream/graham cracker paste, and the surf board and shells are candy melts. Footprints and "happy birth day" (for my brand new newphew's birth day (7-28-06)) were drawn in the sand. thanks for looking!

The dog is a puppy that he is supposed to be giving her as an anniversary gift. If not she has an easy one to take care of now! Chocolate cake with buttercream. Fondant figures and gumpaste chairs.

Chocolate cake with Barbie doll stuck in the mini doll pan. Used real sea shells. I tried to make the ocean wave look at the bottom and then I copied the hibiscus from the napkins. This cake was lots of fun!!!

This is a small (6") cake I made for a friend's bachelorette party. Her wedding theme is starfish and her invitations featured a terracotta cardstock with gold starfish. The cake is devil's food, torted in four layers and filled with white and chocolate BC. Iced in copper BC, with white BC "waves." Topper is demerarra (sp?) sugar, and the shells are made of white chocolate and peanut butter. I painted pearl luster dust on the shells to brighten them up. Thanks for looking :)

I like to play with new shapes, so I tried this one. I also wanted the flowers to be separate for a different look. I used rubber stamps to make the embossing on the board and pleats. I love those rubber stamps!

This was my first attempt at something other then a basic round cake. I made it for my brother who loves surfing. The base cake is a two layer 13"x 9" vanilla cake with strawberry filling, covered in buttercream. The wave and the Surfboard were carved out or rice crispy blocks. The wave was then covered in Buttercream and the Surfboard covered in fondant.

The cake has seashells, slippers, a crab, a starfish, a set of footprints. the sand is a mixture of sugar and brown sugar. To make the waves i frosted the blue then came in with white frosting on a toothpick to blend it in. For the coral reef i just piped along the bottom of the ocean with 3 different tips.

This was a last minute cake I decorated for my dad for his birthday. He surfs, so I thought a beach theme would be fun. The cake is a cake mix and store bought frosting (I wasn't very happy at my mother when she brought it home). ;) The surfboard and little dude are frosting, and the sand is brown sugar. My mom brought it to work the next day, (she's a teacher), and no one would touch it until she finally cut into it. Thanks for looking!
