I took this design from a gorgeous 2-tiered cake I saw on this site (I think?) I just loved how it didn't need an inscription and the colours were so fresh.

This was the most feminine cake! I adored it right when the bride showed me a magazine with this photo.

I made the 2 sizes of flowers in gumpaste and the vines in royal icing directly onto the cake.

Flavours were Chocolate with Toasted Hazelnut Buttercream, Lemon with Fresh Strawberry Buttercream and Banana with Tahitian Vanilla Buttercream.

For a 1st birthday. Castle has a cobblestone impression but it's hard to tell in this photo. All buttercream. Towers made from PVC pipe and turrets are sugar cones.

I was asked to do a monkey cake, this was my first FBCT and I loved it so much that I freehanded the 4 smaller monkeys and made them FBCT too. This was a lot of fun to do. Thanks for the encouragement to help me finally attempt it.

This cake was for a couple who wanted a single tier as they didn't have a lot of guests or funding. Instead of making a very plain cake, I added the vines & other details. I was very nervous when they came, incase they didn't like it, but they did! Thanks for looking!

I saw a similar cake in a magazine so I decided to make it for a bake sale at my mother-in-laws church. I called the next day to see if the cake was bought...she said no it never made it to the church. She said it smelled so good they ate it for dessert. I was looking foward to seeing how much it would sell for...but I was pleased that it smelled and tasted good.

Hello to all! Thanks for looking at my not so perfect, newbie, wanna be perfect cake! LOL. This is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing and filling. Buttercream roses and vines. You should have seen this cake in person-Man, does the cake look better by picture. Wow!

So, the vines aren't blue, but the name sounded right to me! This cake was so much fun, because the Bride & Groom only specified "vines with blue & white flowers", and then allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it! So, it was a lot of fun! Check out some of my other work at, thanks for looking! =)

This was my 2nd Easter Egg that I did for my family. I had a lot of green frosting left-over from another cake....... so I was already part-way done before I started thinking "oh no! rotten egg!" What do you think, and be honest - it looks like a rotten egg, right? LOL... I just went with it, since it was for my own family & they just like to eat the cake anyway =)

I guess this should be called a "leftover" cake. I wanted to use up all of my leftover buttercream, so I made this. The frosting actually had a greenish cast to it, LOL! Vines were made with the pattern press and the rosebuds drove me nuts!!

This was the first fondant figure I've ever made. I dusted him with luster dust for some color, except his eyes, which I just painted the tiniest pieces fondant with black coloring gel. Everthing else was made with buttercream, including the veggies (I'm sure you can tell). If I would have had more time, I would have given him a fondant fence, but I felt I was too new at it to really "go for it"... maybe I should have =) Thanks for looking!

My friend asked me to do her bridal shower cake and since I had never made, I thought I'd make a practice cake. I ended taking it to work and made a lot of coworkers very happy :o) I also saved a couple slices to bring back home for my hubby. The bottom cake is a white vanilla cake. The top cake is a caramel cake. I filled both cakes with whipped vanilla pudding, very nice and light. I used Wilton's BC frosting for the icing and the decorations. This was the first time I painted the inside of my piping bag.

This cake was a 4 and 2 inch tiered mini cake. The flavor was banana and the filling was strawberry. It was time consuming, but worth it in the end...

Copied this from a brides' picture. Everything done in buttercream except ribbon. I learned something from this cake about stacking squares on rounds...can you guess what it is???

A 10" double layer cake. One layer was strawberry from scratch, and the other plain white, with strawberry filling inside. mmmmm! I used tip 1 for the vines.

I'd been agonizing over my roses not being perfect when I was trying to make them in the absence of anything else. And while they're nothing approaching professional, when they're on the cake, they don't look half bad!

I made a cake like this as a quickie for my daughter's daycare class snack day once. Then after looking at all my cake pics, someone actually placed an order for this as a birthday cake. Who knew a 'throw together' cake would sell?! :0)

I had to try Martha Stewart's new basketweave technique that is shown, with instructions, on this site. I love it! It is so easy and looks great. The cake is strawberry cake, with strawberry filling and almond icing. I used strawberry kool-aid to make the color for the iced strawberries and that worked great as well.

I baked this while I was away for the weekend at Lake Tahoe (altitude 6500 feet). I'm not used to the high altitude cooking corrections. This was a disastrous crumbling mess, but my husband encouraged me to try to put it together with frosting. I had no idea it would work so well! Frosting really does cover a multitude of sins...

Thanks to "ngerland" and to Martha Stewart for inspiration.
