Here is the second of 2 cupcake cakes I've done today for 3 little girls (from 2 different families), whose parents have been relocated to work in Iran. 32 cupcakes (16 choc & 16 vanilla), decorated with vanilla buttercream. These little girls are unicorn crazy! Chocolate transfer, fondant letters, silver dragrees.

Unicorn is a lemon buttermilk pound cake made in the 3D lamb pan. Base is 11 x 7" rectangle chocolate chocolate chunk pound cake. Both cakes iced in buttercream, horn (sprinkled with disco glitter and luster dust for a magical look!), and drop flowers made from royal icing and flowers around base made from MMF with royal icing details.

I made this cake for my daughter's birthday. When she told me she wanted unicorns, I didn't know what to think. The inspiration for this cake came off of this site. I made this cake in February and had a really hard time finding theme decorations.

This was my daughter's 1st birthday cake. Her theme was fairytale unicorns. I made this carousel because I wanted a good challenge. The bottom tiers are cake, the carousel top is styrofoam, fondant and royal icing, the unicorns are royal icing on dowels.

This cake is the Snickerdoodle cake with cinnamon buttercream that I found in one of the posts. The recipe is from The Cake Mix Dr. book and it is good (though very cinnamon-y). I frosted with buttercream and did chocolate transfers for the castle, dragon, and unicorn.

When asked what she wanted for her birthday cake, this little girl said a unicorn and rainbow! She was there for the lighthouse cake (family friend) and loved the Fruit by the Foot accent, so I wrapped it around the base for her. Since I don't own an airbrush (I WANT ONE!), I used the Wilton spray color in the can (is it Color Mist?). The flowers are royal, the icing is shortening-based BC, the unicorn and rainbow are both Color Flow and the clouds are marshmallows. I wrote her message on the cake board

I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday- I wanted a unicorn to coordinate perfectly with the image on her napkin and used the Wilton Pony pan. I found a 'unicorn candy cane' at the store today and soaked it in hot water to remove the red and green striping, but it also melted the candy so I couldn't use it bare- I frosted it with buttercream and rolled it in edible glitter and stuck it on the head. This was 2 separate cakes stacked on top of each other and my first character cake pan.

can I just say... WHAT a pain in the tooter! The unicorn itself is white chocolate morsels melted. I made it three times before succombing to the fact that it would always break in two places; I'll just put some drop flowers on the leg and neck :) The horn is also white chocolate and it's brushed with luster dust. I love the way the grass turned out, but boy did my hand hurt after.. :) Thanks for looking!

6", 8", 6" chocolate cakes. Iced in IMB and covered with fondant. Horn is an ice cream cone covered with fondant. Resembles a cow more then a unicorn so I'd do it differently next time. This was my most challenging cake yet.

I made the unicorn from the 3D duck pan, the legs, and ears are just piped on. I stuck him on a 9" round and piped some grass and swirl flowers. The horn is a lollipop stick with a fondant snake around it and some luster dust.

I was inspired by another CCer who did fondant horse cupcakes, sorry I don't remember your name, but since I am not the best modeler, I decided to use marshmallows instead. Cut them up for the face, used a whole one for the body, and 4 small ones for the legs, and then piped on a mane, tail, and horns.

I made this for my daughter's 5th birthday. The theme was unicorns and rainbows. I tried making a unicorn FBCT, but it just didn't work out and I didn't have time to make another one. Luckily she had a unicorn so I changed what my plans were and this is what I ended up with. She loved it!

I made this using the Wilton Alternate use for the Lamb Cake design pan. I created all the flowers using Wilton's ready made Fondant, colorings and luster dusts. I have to tell you while I enjoyed the flower making process, even kids did not like eating the flowers. Does anyone actually like the taste of Fondant???
