Single layer bride's white cake, iced with a mix of cali4dawn's buttercream recipe and white chocolate buttercream frosting. My son helped with the pouring of ingredients into the mixer on this one, so becuz of this he calls it his cake. I can't wait to see how he will react when he sees how it was decorated. First time ever making strawberry tuxedos. The writing is made out of melted chocolate- cut the tip of the disposable bag too big so the writing is not as clean as I would like it 2 be, but it works

This cake gave me fits!!! The frosting is whipped ganache and I could not get it smooth for the life of me. And of course the chocolate fondant lapel had to crack after I placed it on the cake :( Oh well. This picture was taken before I had all the strawberries around the cake so it was filled in a little more.

Here is a sample of the cookies I did for the Wedding Fanfare hosted by our newspaper. The tuxedo idea came from Antonia74 (Big Thank You), don't know if I have ever seen a bride one but this is what I came up with. If someone has done it before--Thnks for the idea. Lots of inquiries were garnered at the show.

This was supposed to be a fondant tuxedo cake, but the fondant wouldn't cooperate for me, so it became a cream cheese buttercream tuxedo cake at the last minute. This wasn't my best work because I had about an hour to redo the whole cake and try to repair the damage the fondant did to the cake. I ended up having to redo the cake three times. Luckily, I knew the groom didn't care what the cake looked like as long as it was chocolate and had a tux on it.'s my first groom's cake..

Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing, fresh strawberry and whipped cream filling, 6" and 12" hexagon pans, tuxedo strawberries using Wilton candy melts. I surprised my surgeon with a cake for his birthday and as I was walking away I saw the other doctors and nurses gathered around waiting for their piece of cake. As I went around the corner, I caught a glimpse of my surgeon reaching for the top strawberry and all I heard was,"MMMMMMMMMM"!

10" Round strawberry cake iced with an almost all butter chocolate buttercream. The white dots on the side are individually piped white chocolate kisses. The top is finished by a crown of hand dipped strawberry tuxedos. Not sure how well the intent comes through but the overall feel for the cake was suposed to be kinda vintage, ya know pin dot fabric and simple lines.

The bride wanted the cake to be brown and white iced for a bi-racial wedding. All bc and each layer filled with different flavors. Groom's cake is a choc fondant covered tuxedo.

I should have used a larger bottom round. Live & learn. She and her groom and families loved it though. That's what matters!

This was for my new son-in-law! He chose a tuxedo heart strawberry cake with a knife in the heart and strawberry gel as blood! It got mixed reviews, but most thought it was funny! It's covered in black and white MMF. The lapels were painted with gel to make them look like satin, but the photo doesn't show it well.

My friend was throwing a bridal shower for her niece and wanted a groom cake and a bride cake to match the tux/dress theme. The tuxedo cake is inspired by one that Publix (grocery store) makes. Everything is MMF (chocolate and plain) - my lifesaver! The discoloration is due to the fact that I used cornstarch when rolling the fondant. Next time I'll use Crisco.

Bride picked out design (online) but wanted it to be surprise for the wedding.
Inside it was butter recipe cake with strawberry whipped cream filling inbetween the four layers, then frosted with buttercream then black fondant.
Everyone loved the cake itself but the fondant was strange to many people. Not a piece of this cake was left.
The bride had put the groom running away with the bride grabbing his collar topper on it. I should have gotten a picture of it all together but I got busy in the kitchen.

This was my second wedding cake I made for a friend this past weekend! I was so nervous but it worked out! 3 layers are white with raspberry filling and 1 is chocolate. This is covered with buttercream. Everyone thought it was fondant. I also put black satin ribbon around the bottom of each tier.
On the side I made a groomscake. I grew up with the groom and his favorite kind of cake is yellow with chocolate frosting so I made him his own cake with the tuxedo strawberries!

This is a half chocolate/half white sheet cake for a bridal shower. The main part is FBCT (which gave me trouble when I tried to smooth it and found it hadn't crusted enough....grrrrrr). I don't have much experience with cornelli lace, but I gave it a shot. This cake design was inspired by one on CC by a member named Evita (Thanks Evita!).
