Made for a retirement at my work. Piping Gel Transfer all Buttercream. I wasn't happy that my I let the turtle crust before I could smooth him better. Everyone at work said that it made look rough like a real turtle would have. 11x15 devil's food. I still have a hard time with my icing picking up choc cake crumbs! :( I will post an up close of the turtle. This is the Snapper (mower) turtle logo.

This design is from the wilton wonder mold as well as many ideas from this web site! The little girl wanted a mermaid and a dolphin for her birthday cake. I made the little sea creatures in the water and the dolphin out of fondant and added chocolate seashells dusted with luster dust.

I wanted to try Hockeymom's method of lettering. (Piping over an edible image.) It's definitely an improvement for me...but I need lots more practice. I decided toapply the same technique to the main image. There are times I want something more organic looking than a printed image. This works, I think. It's easier and quicker than an FBCT, and you can build up areas, making it sculptural.

I was asked to come up with something with a turtle on it. I found this idea I think at I used the 1/2 ball pan for the body and a cupcake for the head.

This was a 10" round bottom, with the "doll dress" cake on top, but I cut it down to a diameter of 8", and rounded-off the top. I put it on a board & off-set it, so part of it was off the back of the 10" cake, to give more room for "ocean & waves". This was a really fun cake, thanks for looking!

We based this on a drawing in the Seuss book Yertle the Turtle....its supposed to be 9 turtles stacked high, we had 7...the bottom turtle's name in the book is Mack, my daughter's name is we thought it woudl be cute.

The turtles on top are white chocolate sprayed with blue wilton color mist...and the bottom turtle is cake with fondant pieced together mosaicly. THe letters are chocolate, I used a clay mold for them, and the cat tails are chocolate as well as the grass used just plain waxpp

This "New Age" couple wanted a sea turtle with a top hat for a groom's cake. I wasn't quiet sure how I was going to do it, but loved results. Start with an oval cake, top with a smaller round, then carving. All buttercream icing with a black gumpaste top hat.

This was my first non-class sculpted cake, for my son's 2nd birthday. It is all fondant covered (chocolate fondant shell) with buttercream embellishments. I made coordinating cupcakes for the kids and the adults ate the cake. I'm pretty pleased with my freshman effort!

I made this turtle cupcake cake for my son's daycare class today. Sunday is his 6th birthday and I'll be making a 3D turtle cake for him then. I hope he's half as excited with the 3D cake as he was with just this! :0)

This was for my son's 6th birthday. He loves turtles (we just got a tiny painted turtle in May) and was absolutely thrilled with his cake! He named it 'Ank'??
The body is a 10" round, 8" round and half ball stacked and carved, the feet are 3" rounds carved, the head is a half ball carved and the tail is just carved out of scraps. All buttercream. Thanks for looking!

Client requested a "Cake for Two" (6") playful beach themed sand castle cake for 50th anniversary. I asked if a crab couple would be fun and she agreed! It was fun to make and easy. Chocolate Shells, Fondant Critters and Brown Sugar Sand. Top tier is a ice cream cone.
