Here's the cake my sil and I worked on together. Marbled fondant with fondant and royal icing accents. A lot of fun and everyone enjoyed trying to find their face! Cake was dark chocolate fudge with dark chocolate ganache covering and filling under the fondant.

This Cake was copied from one I saw on It was 4 10" round layers covered in fondant and painted by hand. The gumpate pansies were painted with luster dust and the holly was purchased gumpaste. The mushrooms were fondant as were the ladybugs. The butterflies were edible images covered in piping gel but I never could get them to dry stiff. The limb was Styrofoam covered in fondant. I am still amazed by this cake.

The cake was pictured at an angle so you could see the White Rabbit on the front, but I think you can still see the top picture okay. Everything was done with buttercream, and a lot of it was applied with paintbrushes & toothpicks. Thanks for looking! :D

These seem to be pretty popular! 1/2 choc, 1/2 yellow cake w/BC. Little rocks are choc candies I found and flowers are silk. The couples e-vite had orchids and I had some left from the last beach cake I did.

I did this cake for one of my moms co-workers. She loves palm trees. It is made out of (4) 9 in rounds cut in half and stacked. and (2) 13 x 9 in pan stacked and cut to shape the trunk. The coconuts are mini chocolate donut holes. It was a lot of fun to make this. The only problem was that it weighed a ton!

I must give all credit for this design to Tripletmom. I saw her great family tree cake in the gallery and knew it was perfect for my Dad's birthday. Thanks for the inspiration! He loved the cake.
Cake is 9X13 carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Apples and banners are gumpaste.

This is a cake I did last week for my parents' anniversary. It was an excuse to play with chocolate fondant which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I found it very easy to work with and had a great flavor.

One of my first fondant decoration cakes my sister and I did for a friend. We found that the gel slid way too much on the fondant, was only supposed to go on the top. The day ended up way to oversized for the cake but the little girl loved it! Chocolate covered pretzels, with cookie crumb sand, and all fondant decorations.

I made this cake for my niece's 6 year old birthday party. The theme was a Hawaiin hula party. The girls loved the flowers and the palm trees.

No Fail with Alices Cookie Icing, summer theme for meeting at church. Had never used Alices icing before, like the taste, need to let it sit a little for the outline. Likes to bleed.

I did this cake at work and it was done to match the invitation. It's hard to tell it in the picture, but the main icing color was a vibrant pinky-orange-red color. Rather unusual, but pretty. All piped in buttercream.

This was a 10" round bottom, with the "doll dress" cake on top, but I cut it down to a diameter of 8", and rounded-off the top. I put it on a board & off-set it, so part of it was off the back of the 10" cake, to give more room for "ocean & waves". This was a really fun cake, thanks for looking!

This was for my daughter's 10th birthday. She saw a cake I made before of a Palm Tree laying flat on the cake board & she said she would like a palm tree on the beach with a sunset.... and she LOVES dolphins! So, I have an old Wilton 3D Bunny pan - I cut-away at the ears sticking straight-up to form the palm. The dolphin was carved out of another old Wilton 3D pan - the "Loveable Animal", it looks kind of like Simba as a cub. Thanks for looking!

For a 6 year old who was having a beach/Hawaiian them birthday party. The mother wanted palm trees, but I don't have access to plastic palm trees here in Japan, so I tried to make one from a large pretzel stick and buttercream leaves. I also didn't realize that it is hard to pipe icing on vanilla wafer crumbs. They were pleased. Thanks to CC for the beach theme ideas.

Let's try this again, the other picture was sideways and forgot to mention who helped me with it. 12" square, 8" square with a 6" round hut. Flowers are silk, ladder was rope, hut roof is just manila folder shaped cone with fondant strips. Fondant strips were adhere with water to the cone. Trees are fondant, leaves are held with wire. Net and starfish for cake base decoration. Big hit at the party. This cake was inspired by a cake from Ginger08. Thanks Ginger for your wonderful instructions!

I made this "family tree cake" for a teacher's retirement. It's iced in buttercream, with fondant leaves which were signed by all the staff members. The bird in the corner represents our teacher who is 'flying away from her family'.

I made these cookies for the church's VBS, themed "SonTreasure Island". I'm not much of a cookie baker or decorator, but this site made this task easier. Whew - I have a new found respect for the cookie decorators out there!

This is a cake my son did when he was 7 1/2. Our scout troop does an auction every year where the kids are supposed to decorate a cake themselves and it get auctioned off for a fundraiser. There was more frosting on this cake then most of mine. He had a blast and was so proud of his cake. He did everything except put it in and out of the oven. He even greased and floured the pans and cleaned up!!

My son and a couple of neighbor kids wanted me to make a cake. The deal was, I bake the cake - they decorate it! There were three kids, age 10, age 8 and age 7. I think they did a pretty good job on what they titled, "The Boonies Cake".
