This was my first attempt at the current trend in cup-cake cakes. Wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

Made with fondant that I colored black then I airbrushed the masks. I know the colors arent the exact colors but the birthday child requested them to be done in his school colors.

This is the back of the transformer cake. For those wondering ... there is no "cake" ... the whole thing is rice cereal/marshmallow treats, fondant, and melted hard candy and soft cake cookies for the wheels. Unfortunately, I don't have any "work in progress" photos, as we didn't have time to think of taking them. Thanks for all the great comments. You will hear back if there are ever instructions available.

My son wanted a cake with Optimus Prime on it and I was very apprehensive about finding a way to do it. I discovered the technique of frozen buttercream transfer and just went for it and hoped for the best.

All buttercream Optimus Prime semi, for cousins birthday. Stacks are pretzel rods covered in butter cream. I used a 1/2 sheet cake and then divided it in 3rds, used two of the thirds stacked and other two I cut in 1/2 again and made two small square cakes with transformers logos... Kids loved it all. Biggest mistake was trying to fill the cake and then carve it.. I had minor leakage but used stiff frosting as a morter!!!

This is my first car cake. My son is turning 10 and he loves transformers. Bumblebee is his favorite so I thought of this cake. Turned out to be a little harder than I expected and the MMF was giving me fits. He loved it though so thats all that matters, right?! Triple layer chocolate cake carved and covered with MMF. Hand painted accents.

Here is the rear view to the Camaro I just posted. You can tell by this pic how much trouble I was having with the MMF.

This was for my son. It was a chocolate 9x13 with another 9x13 cut and stacked on itself in the back. It turned out how I wanted it to. Only thing I would,ve done different was the colors and If I had time added the Autobots logo on the back and the Words Trans Formers on the front. But this was a practice for his friends party later that week.

This is the second cake I did for my son this week. The 1st turned out great. Though I really like the colors of thi one better, I had a small design problem. The top stacked part sarted to lean backwards. Betweeenthe kitchen being to warm and the support stick i put in at the wrong length:the ones in the middle of the cake were a little taller then the ones at the edge; I almost lost the top half. This is why it was on a angel wire rack. IF this would've been for someone else bu me I would've redone it.

My 1st Transformers. I cut out pieces from a picture I found online & laminated them & cut them from a 9x13 cake & 1 piece from an 8X8 cake as they all didnt fit on one cake. I placed the pieces in the freezer; about 15 minutes-then coated lightly with thin frosting & wrapped in fondant-my first fondant try! Sprayed with red & yellow food coloring mist & painted sides w/painted black & blue icing gel. He loved it but refused to let anyone cut it up. It isn't perfect but I am working on it everyday.

These cupcakes are chocolate with vanilla icing. The Transformers are FBCT and were a pain to make. I am glad this cake is done.

This was very time consuming!!! Cake is a double layer 11 X 15. I did the outline as a FBCT, then filled in the rest right on the cake. This was my first of 2 of these cakes in one week! Thanks for looking.
