Made from a simple internet pattern. To make sure it would feed 40 people, I used 2 9x13" sheet cakes plus an 8" round cake on top. The rectangle were yellow cake, while the round cake was a chocolate mix.

I made this for a little boy's birthday. He ate off the sides of the cake while his mom was sleeping before the party lol. I got the idea from this website.

I made this for a friend for her son's birthday party. I used Wilton's thomas and friends cake pan, buttercream icing and MMF for the face and some of the details.

These are no fail sugar cookies with MMF. I changed the number to 3 to match the child's age.

I give 100% credit for this idea to cassiescakes, I loved her cake and wanted to try it myself. I didn't have fondant so I couldn't try the fondant face but was pretty happy with it overall. My son went nuts for it so that's all that mattered! The name is made out of tinted no fail sugar cookies.

This is a 10" cake - I have piped Thomas, James and Percy in the entrance to the tunnels all around the cake. The fourth tunnel is empty so Sir Topham Hatt is looking at his pocket watch - you know how he is about punctuality! I used a brick impression mat for the brick pattern. this cake was so much fun to do. I can't wait until tomorrow to see how my customer likes it! All she said was to do a Thomas cake. She didn't care how I did it.

This is a cake I did for my son's 2nd Birthday. He went everywhere with his little Thomas train so it was a no brainer for the type of party he'd enjoy. I used Oreo cookies for the wheels and pretzel stix for the train tracks. One word of caution... do not use a confetti cake mix. I made a mistake and stood two layers of cake up on end for the cab portion of the cake. In the morning it had fallen over. I suspect the candy pieces weakened it. Good thing I took this picture before hand! Enjoy.

I am pretty pleased with how this cake turned out, considering (as usual) the pan instructions were wrong. I can understand how people might get frustrated with cake decorating when the companies that design the pan can't even get the instructions right.

I decided to color a train track on the cake board before I covered it in clear contact paper. I cut a piece of paper the same size as the base of the cake to be sure that my tracks would be the right size. I wanted it to look sort of like a coloring book, I think it worked! :) Fun cake to do!

I used the "Thomas the Tank Engine" pan to make this cake for my son's second birthday. The cake itself is a chocolate cake made from a mix.

This is Thomas the useful engine, and he was my first carved cake. I should have rolled in the colors rather than painting them on the fondant. Things you learn after you finish, right? This one was fun.

9 inch x 6 inch lemon butter cake covered in light blue fondx. Fondant red stars on side. Dark blue royal icing balls around base. Gumpaste lettering and age and edible image trimmed down. Made for a friend who has a little boy turning 2. She wanted a cake for when we went to visit and asked for small, fast and no fuss. This was simple but as you all know, no cake is fast and no fuss.

Wow - the bottom sure looks messy... I think I just ran out of steam on these (no pun intended!). They were very time consuming due to having to wait for one color to dry before adding another.

This was made for stepson for his third birthday who is crazy for Thomas! The railroad "tracks" are made from Stringers and the "grass" is desiccated coconut mixed with green liquid food coloring. The cake was choclate cake and the coconut seemed to go very well with the chocolate. The "trees" are coconut covered marshmallows with candy stick "trunks", which I think you can find at any grocery store. For any little ones that love Thomas, this is a quick and easy cake!

great Thomas toy at walmart for about 7.00. Fits perfectly over mmf covered sheet cake. I got really tired of doing those stand up Thomas trains. This gives the kids something to play with afterwards as well. Very quick!

my first all fondant cake, which gave me confidence to try more complicated projects. My nephew loved it - unlike the mothers who came to collect children who had just eaten all the red part and were bouncing off the walls!
