This was for my son's 5th Birthday. I found a picture in his Thomas the Tank Engine Magazine and drew it free-handed onto the cake and decorated it from there. I was really excited the way it turned out. I am just a beginning cake decorator. Thanks for looking at my picture.

Freehand drawing of Thomas the Tank. Buttercream icing outline with thinned buttercream fill-in. I never use those candy letters, but in this case, I think they look cute!

This is my son's 3rd birthday cake. I made this with one hand after I got home from the emergency room. While making the icing for this cake, I accidently stuck a butcher knife thru my left hand. Thank goodness I am right handed but this will be a birtday for the scrapebook!!!

I needed a small Thomas cake so this is what I came up with the Thomas was the childs. The tip about turning the frosting bright pink and then adding red to make it red really saved time and coloring

Thomas the tank engine smash cake. This is for a little boy's 1st birthday....of course! Iced in buttercream and face is MMF. I am so happy with how the face turned out. It isn't perfect but I am happy. My son saw this cake and thought it was a toy...kept saying "choo..choo" It is going to be hard to keep him from it. Thanks for everyone's help on this one!!!!

The bottom is 2 10 inch layers. The bricks are fondant as are the trains. The top is a cake made from a 3d train pan. Sir Topham Hatt is fondant. The rocks are fondant. The family loved it and thought I was a little insane for doing it ;)

My nephew was just nuts over Thomas and wanted a cake to look like him, so I borrowed one of his toys to match it.

Here is the correct Thomas photo for the description I put with the JoJo cake! He was sculpted from a 3 layer cake and covered in buttercream with gumpaste features. Thank you to all who helped and answered my questions on this cake.

A simple birthday cake for a sweet little boy in my daughter's playgroup. Thomas and letters are colorflow, everything else is buttercream. I'll never buy Wilton's red again after using the Americolor red!

This is a butter cake with BC Icing and using the star technique for the engine. I wasn't really pleased with the cake, but it was okay for one of the first character cakes that I had done... wish I had known about FBCT at the time because that is what I would have done instead.

This one is a cake I did almost right after starting the wilton courses, wow, I had forgotten I even had a picture of this one lol. It was a 1/8 sheet cake, for one of my husbands co-workers daughter who loves Thomas the Train. I could live with everything except the way the mouth turned out, wasn't happy with the look of that, but the little girl really loved it, and knew what it was suppose to be lol! So I was ok with that
