It's the first time that I tried out MMF, so I just experimented with cookiecutters, drapes, painting, gel, etc... . My FIL is a VERY proud texan, who lives in the rio grande valley. maybe now you will see where I was going with my fantasie design ;-)

This cake was done for my friend's boyfriend who loves everything Texas Longhorn. I would have personally preferred to do the acutal bull, but she wanted the hand. Oh well, whatever the client wants, right?

18x24" sheet cake done for Texas Longhorn Breeders of America Association. They were having their 1st annual show in my hometown, and I was asked to do the cake. They had a catered dinner for the members and sponsors, and this cake was the center of the dessert table. The background is airbrushed to resemble the Texas flag. The "longhorn" is a FBCT of the TLBAA logo.

I did this cake for my best friend. She was from Texas and was marring a man from California. Her surprise for him was this Texas theme Groom's table. I used the Texas pan and decorated it with the Texas flag.

This was a groom's cake. I piped in the star over a background that was set-up like the Texas state flag. It was a hit!

This was my very first fondant cake. I did it for a new years eve party. I discovered the joy's and pain's of fondant. First problem, the center of the cake collapsed. Second problem, when I got the black and green on, my daughter sprayed soda all over the top with her straw. When I was done, I had it nicly displayed on the table when I walked by and found 10 little holes all over the top. I assumed it was my 3 year old - so as I started to scold her, I found out it was actually by 8 year old.

Sorry the picture is so blurry...couldn't quite get the hang of the camera. This is a red velvet cake frosted with th cream cheese buttercream frosting. I got the recipe off this site. The frosting kept trying to slide around on the cake. The stars were airbrushed. The logo is a FBCT, and the flag is MMF.

This is a 10" round single layer cake for a small family party. The Aunt, who ordered this cake, only said that birthday girl loved to go to the lake and was a BIG University of Texas fan. I finally came up with this concept after much consideration. The entire top of the cake is airbrushed to look like a lake scene. If you look closely, the sailboat has a UT Longhorn with the word "TEXAS" below it. The writing on the sail was very difficult for me, as I hate working with such a small tip.

Two 11x15 sheet cakes (one choc, one yellow) and a Texas shaped choc cake on top. Customer having an anniversary celebration for her business and wanted R,W & B theme as well as the Texas shape but wanted it very clean & simple. This was a VERY heavy cake. I had trouble deciding on a red or blue background and I was glad I chose the red-it made it really stand out.

This was my first fondant cake (used MMF) - I had a lot more trouble with it than I expected! It was very sticky and sretchy and took many, many attempts to get the fondant on the cake. Hopefully next time will be easier. This cake is red velvet with cream cheese icing.

Yes... I live in Texas. Red velvet cake with strawberry filling (made from two football pans). Head, arms, legs, tail from gumpaste. MMF covered body and appendages. I had to support the bottle with some popsicle sticks. I "glued" the bottle to them with melted candy. Fun cake. Only in the South.

This was a cake and cookies for a tournament my husband is going to. It is not my best work by a long shot, my husband had made me reallllly angry while I was decorating it so cncentration was not all there. I wanted to look kinda classy but still very vegasy at the same time. Did that make sense??? So the cookies are the colors of the chips they will be using. The cake is Deep Chocolate Fudge cake with Mocha BC and Espresso dark chocolate candy clay coating.

This is a 10" round chocolate cake with buttercream icing and mmf decorations. It is my version of the one in a Wilton book. I also covered the pillars in mmf and they are hot glued to the cake board and to the cake plate.

This was made for my BIL's birthday - a huge UT fan! The burnt orange was a bit hard to achieve, but it was perfect. (The color looks darker in the photo).

This was the groom's cake that accompanied the five tier wedding cake. All I did was the stars for the longhorn but i learned how to outline a template by watching my aunt (the cake expert). Making the longhorn color was a pain but i was very happy with the outcome.

Lots of things I see "wrong" with this -- especially the rope border has spaces in places it shouldn't, and I wrinkled things a bit when I transferred the already-decorated cake from the baking sheet to the cardboard circle. (Most important lesson learned -- make sure DH has cardboard ready BEFORE decorating cake!!!) Not thrilled with the Wilton class, but that's another tale to tell. :)

Texas hold em table. All Bc except the chips are MMF. I don't have the hex shape pan so I used the flower petal pan, worked fine.

I made a texas shape cake for my dad for father's day. The frosting color is adobe, with rope color and style border. The photo doesn't show the colors correctly. I didn't go to much trouble (obviously)

This cake was my 1st FBCT! and my 1st Cornelia lace(spelling). It was a FBCT of the Texas Roadhouse resteraunt emblem. The cake has a top layer of vanilla and a bottom layer of very dense chocolate, almost like a brownie....yum! The entire cake was frosted in BC and the FBCT was done with the same BC.Everyone loved it!

I made this cake 8.12.06 for my older sister who is going to Texas (tyler) for her masters, and she'll be teaching classes as well. She will be gone for 3 years, and we will only get to see her around Christmas time, since it is rather expensive and time consuming to come back home to Florida. Frozen buttercream transfer in the middle, and the cream cheese frosting melted some....and...yeah. =)
