This cake is red velvet with a cream cheese frosting. The dragon is an exact copy of the birthday girls tattoo. I took the tattoo print and enlarged it (see in my album) and then cut it out. After the icing had chilled a bit I used black gel icing to fill it in and that was about it. A tedious task but it turned out great I think. And it was the hit of the Chinese themed bday party.

My Sis had this wonderful starburst tattoo done in blue around her belly button way before the thought of children was on the horizon. We've all had fun watching it grow and expand these last nine months. When she requested a belly cake for her shower, everyone thought the tattoo should be there. WASC with strawberry filling and cream cheese icing.

My friend and I collaborated on this. She had mentioned that she wanted to make this cake for about 4 months now. So, I put the fire under her. I baked, she carved and covered and airbrushed and drew; Then we researched Old School Tattoos since we agreed we wanted a Sailor girl pin up. The cake was taken to MIAMI INK . (It's a show on TV) I hope you like it, she was reluctant to post it, but I thought it was an awesome cake!

This was for a girl that wants a purple orchid tattoo, but she is too scared to get one, so her hubby got this cake for her. I wish the drawing came out a little better, but it is sooo hard to paint and draw on fondant, if there are any tips out there, please let me know!;-) Thanks!!!

I made this cake for friends who like Sailor Jerry Tattoos. The girls are CF. I used a piping gel transfer for the Homeward Bound tattoo and traced it with the black icing. All BC.

12" Red Velvet filled and frosted with crusting cream cheese icing. Groom is a tattoo artist. Had him do some original designs for top and front, had them made into edible images, cut them out and applied to top and front of the cake. A model of a tattoo gun was placed on top. First time with edible images, since I waited for the icing to crust, I did a light mist of water before applying the images.

This is my attempt at an Ed Hardy birthday cake for my husband, who is covered in tattoos. It is very humid in Texas, and the icing recipe I used from Whimsical Bakehouse would not stay on the cake sides. It just slid right off. That hs nsver happend before, but obviously I could not decorate the sides. A sheet cake would have been a better choice so more details could have been added, but overall I am pleased with a least the skull part.

This was made for my husband (who LOVES his tattoos!) using IndyDeb's BC recipe over french vanilla & chocolate cake with mocha filling. This was inspired by Ed Hardy art using an airbrush to lay the color for the background and then handpainting the designs with airbrush color (liquid) and a fine brush.

A Lady came in and had seen some of my tattoo cakes.
Her daughters name is Countess, so I put this together for her.
It tured out really good but I think I should have added more stars at the top though.

This was designed by the bride and groom... every thing to their specifications.. they provided us color pictures of their tattoos and where they wanted them on the cake, the colors etc. We were really nervous making it, but they LOVED IT! Covered in fondant... the tattoos were drawn on edible images and cut out, then turned over and iced in white BC very carefully and quickly, then frozen. While frozen they are easier to handle, and a few dots of DC helps them stick... colors won't bleed.

This is my first (ever) fondant cake. I did it for my son's 26th birthday. I used an image my son had done up for a tattoo he got of his son Aidyn (my grandson) using black buttercream frosting.
I did not take any classes but checked out a book from the library and was inspired. I know it's not perfect but I am so happy the way it turned out...just wanted to share and would love to hear and feedback or comments. This may be my first fondant cake but definitely will not be my last. thanks for looking and any feedback.

Chocolate WASC cake fully covered in fondant. I've included the picture of an actual tattoo gun to compare. The cake was too big to get the whole thing in one camera shot, so part of the cake is missing from the picture. Thanks for looking!

birthday cake for husband and wife (birthdays within a couple of days of each other) Husband has a tattoo of he and his wife as lego people on his leg (not joking). Request was for a stacked lego cake with a recreation of them as they are in the tattoo plus a baby lego to represent the baby they just had. I was rushed in taking the pics and they didnt come out great (a little condensation still on the fondant from the fridge which evaporated by the time I delivered). I am also posting a pic of the tattoo
