This was for a high school graduation. The top is cardboard and the bottom was made with the wonder mold pan. The tassel was very fun. I stuck a skewwer into the cake board and made the tassel around it using the grass tip.

This is a pillow cake I did for a baby's first birthday. The whole thing is brushed with pearl & luster dusts. Some colors I mixed together, some not. The colors were pale pinks, golds, & creams though the colors don't show up exactly true in the pictures.

This cake was quite a learning experience! First time painting with luster dusts -- quite fun and very cool effect! And first time at fondant tassels --also fun! I used a garlic press to squeeze out the fondat. The frog is hand-sculpted fondant. Thank heavens he's not 40 more than once in his life!!

A graduation cake for a school whose colors are black, orange and white. They wanted chocolate icing and said I could use that instead of black (thank goodness!). The emblem is a FBCT, diploma is MMF, cap is the top of a jumbo cupcake covered with MMF. Mortar is a piece of cardboard wrapped with MMF and the tassel is MMF pushed through a garlic press! I was really happy with this one except for the writing.

I made this cake for my DH's office. They are celebrating everyone's birthday for the month of August today. Cakes covered in BC with hand painted ( yellow luster) fondant swags/tassels, bow topper, and Army 'A'. Satin ribbon around bases. Black Satin Ice (my new best friend) used for draped banner down the front, and for writing 'Happy Birthday' on. I couldn't get the flash to work, but the lustered parts are very shimmery. Thanks for looking!

Buttercream cake with fondant covered cardboard hat and fondant diploma. This was my first try at a cake this elaborate and I was not happy with how it turned out, but the picture looks pretty good. (You can't see all the flaws!!) Thanks to boween for the idea.

Have been wanting to make a pillow cake and use my diamond impression mat, so took the "domed" scraps from a couple of hex cakes I made earlier this week to make this one. Being round instead of square, I think it looks more like a pie with a teal top crust! Oh well.

My 2nd attempt at recreating the pillow cake I made in Colette Peter's class..that one was a dummy, this one is all cake. Its not perfect, but closer to the look I want that my 1st attempt! 8" square cake shaped and covered in MMF. 4" round shaped and covered in MMF. Both painted with luster dust. Burned my hand severely making this one! I hope my neighbor will enjoy the cake. :)

Made for a 49th birthday party - only request was the color selection and cake flavor. Daughter of the guest of honor picked it up and told me she was jealous because her mom's cake was prettier than the one I made for her! I took that as a compliment. I am dying to do one of these pillows with a tiara or shoe on top! Need to find an extruder tool for my ropes - what a pain to roll out all of that and keep them from breaking. Pillow was 14" square, sculpted - that was one huge piece of fondant...

I made this for my co workers daughter. Her school colors were blue and white. I used half of the ball mold and covered with MMF. This was my second time with MMF, I'm SLOWLY getting better. I was very pleased with the result. Thanks for looking.

Inspired by Miskyek's Gorgeous cake! My friend wanted a princess cake for her little girl. She wanted a real tiara so her daughter could "become" the princess at the party. I thought that was cute.. and easier on me! The tassels were still a major pain anyways. oh well!

Pillow is covered in fondant and airbrushed purple. The crown is chocolate, because my royal icing crown broke at the last minute. The pillow and the tiara were made using the instructions in the articles here on CC. Thank you carrielynnfields and missyek!

Ok! It's finished. I was getting a little worried about the tassel on this one. I still don't quite like it! This is a confetti cake (grad wanted) with crusting buttercream. The cap is done in gumpaste and the diploma has a gumpaste sheet behind a wafer paper that I printed on(not edible ink so sorry) This was an easy one except for the tassel. I really hope my friend likes it and it's enough cake!! LOL Thank you for looking!

I made two of these for two different girls from the same school. I airbrushed them green, so my whole house is green, due to the airconditioner being on at the time. I got the cake idea from sugar creations. Letters are gumpaste made with the tappits cutters.

This cake was a graduation cake for the West Hardin Oilers HS. White cake with buttercream icing, royal icing oil rigs, and fondant diplomas. I used the alphabet cookie cutters to cut the letters out of cake. Time consuming, but I like the effect it gave. Thanks for looking!

I made this for my 4 yr old princess! :0) We had a princess themed birthday party so I made a pillow cake for Cinderella's glass slipper. The base cake is a 10" round strawberry cake (it had to be pink inside) with buttercream icing. The pillow was a 9" square funfetti cake carved, iced in BC, then covered in purple MMF. The accents (tassels, border, ribbon roses) are MMF also. The slipper & princesses are plastic.

These cake were tought to cover with fondant. The books are lemon cakes with raspberry filling and the graduation cap is a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling. I used edible 14 karat gold on the "07" that is on the tassel. The tassel is made of fondant and gumpaste. The diploma is white chocolate.

Made this for my sisters best friends grandson's graduation from high school. It is a butter cake with chocolate cream filling.

I made almost the whole cake and then was told the school colors were wrong so I had to take it apart and start all over! Yikes! Because of that the icing didn't come out very smooth :-(

My business partner Suebee and I did this cake for her daughters birthday. Sue also made a great bottle from I Dream of Jeannie for the top. We carved it from a 13x13 square and covered it with moss green fondant. We painted the fondant with Aztec Gold and Avacado green luster dust. This was so much fun. Check under her photos for the bottle!
