This was my first Veggie Tale cake to make. I used gel to transfer the image to the cake and just filled it in.

This was a cake I made for my friend who is a realtor and had just sold a house to some clients. She wanted the cake give to the family's children to welcome them to the neighborhood. This is a piping gel transfer as I have not mastered the FBCT yet.

Ok, 2nd attempt at the BCT...loved it this time!!! This is just practice for the 'real' cake in a week. It's a cupcake cake, and my 1st time doing one. Not sure what to do w/the icing sinking inbetween the cupcakes where they didn't meet, but other than that it turned out pretty good.

White almond cupcakes w/raspberry filling.

This is a picture of a cake that I did for a little boy who wanted a sharktales cake. I don't normally buy the kit but I made an exception on this one, I also didn't add all of the extras that it called for, I kept it simple, beings this was a very busy weekend and I had 4 orders. I'm just getting started and 4 orders due one weekend just about got me, not to mention the fact that I have a 2 and 4 yr old. Yeah, I'm busy! Hope you like the cake. It was definitely a quickie. The top is colored piping gel.

First castle I have done...turrets are ice cream cones coated in candy, although the bottoms looked bad so I covered them again with icing "stones". Also dusted with pearl dust.

This was for a little girls' first birthday, the bottom layer and top 'baby' layer was white with almond buttercream, the middle layer was chocolate with strawberry filling. The 'towers' were paper towel rolls and ice cream cones covered in fondant. Stone impression mat to give texture, purple luster dust for tops of towers. Fondant banner and flag.

My daughter was really into Veggie Tales (specifically "Little Joe") when I made this for her 2nd birthday. All characters are made from fondant (including barrels, sacks, etc), and added granulated sugar tinted tan for the sand.

This is hand sculpted from a double layer 12" cake...fondant covered, each scale cut by hand, and then the cake hand painted as I don't quite yet have my airbrush. :-)

This was my first attempt at a BCT. I didn't cover the back in icing after finishing, and I saw why that was important later. I was happy that it worked at all, but I see lots of room for improvement.

A butter cream frosting, with royal blue sanding sugar sprinkled on top for the ocean ( I tried to use a wilson 104 tip for 'waves' sound the edge, I felt it was marginally successful). The seaweed is cut from fruit rolls ups and the fish piped buttercream. the rocks are a combination of blue buttercream with some brown mxed in and jelly bean rocks. The shark is of course palstic.

This is my 3rd attempt at this cake, for the same family.

This time I used a 9 inch square pan which I cut down to about an 8 inch and used the spare to give me the 2nd floor. I covered shop bought mini swiss rolls for the turrets and put purple sprinkles on the base of the turret roof using butter cream.

This cake is easier than it looks and when I have more time I will upload the other 2 photos.

Made for daughter's 3rd birthday. At the time I knew nothing about star placement or crumb coating but she loved it. This was my first shaped cake. I cut it out and used a cupcake for the nose. The icing was canned and I've since learned to make my own!

This is for my preschooler class at church tomorrow. It's a cupcake cake; so easy to serve. Esther is an edible image I printed. Esther's Hebrew name means star, so I added a few. I'm going to let them watch the Esther video & eat cake after our lesson.

Both covered in fondant.
I had never watched Veggie Tales until my friend asked for this cake. She lent me the DVDs and i loved them : )

What was Sleeping Beauty dreaming of for those 100 years? What if she had been reading a book of fairy tales before she fell asleep? Her world melts down into the top of Cinderella's castle, which is in the clouds of Snow White's forest, which rests atop the Little Mermaid's world under the sea. As you can see, each princess is asleep, dreaming of their own true love. ( fondant/ beginning of idea from Debbie Brown's Sleeping Beauty)

I did this cake for my niece, on her 2nd B-day. It is Cho. cake, and butter creme icing. with a buttercreme transfer( my 2nd one) I got kinda upset, i was running out of icing so while i was frosting the cake. I told myself "this part will be covered by the transfer.. i'll just not ice this little spot.." Larry sunk into the cake... a lesson well learned, at least i was the only one who saw it..lol

The magical world of fairy tales comes to life in this enchanted storybook, open to a map of "Fairy Tale Land" which shows the way to the Beast's Castle (complete with Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Lumiere), Prince Charming's Castle (with a pumpkin and mouse ready to serve), the Enchanted Forest (where the shoemaker, grandma, and Jack the live in the "Pig Brothers Estate Homes" neighborhood), Magic Lake (home of the Frog Prince and Swan Princess), and the Bear Cave (where the porridge is waiting to be eaten).

This was for a co-worker's nephew's 3rd birthday. Chocolate and white cake, both with cookies and cream filling, iced in buttercream dream with chocolate transfers. This was such a fun cake to make and I learned a new technique in the process--I love choclate transfers!. I know, obviously not how to take clear pictures of my cakes. I wish I could see his face when he gets it.
