I made this cake in addition to the wedding cake. I set it on the head table and they didn't know about it until they sat down. They loved it (so did the wedding party!).

I made this for my poker playing husband for his birthday. I seen a picture of a professional bakers cake out of Vegas and thought well I can make on like that. However mine isn't as good as theirs but I thought it turned out real well.

This was my first try at an open book. I learned so much in doing this one (what not to do also)! I did this one last month for a black history month celebration. The bottom cake is 22"x 15" made to sort of resemble an antique table top or desk top. The book was carved from a 1/2 sheet.

I made this cake for my dad's birthday...he had just gotten a new pool table, that is what inspried the design. He was so proud of the cake he would not let anyone cut it. He finally cut it a week later. Thank God it still tasted good.

This was my very first fondant cake. I did it for a new years eve party. I discovered the joy's and pain's of fondant. First problem, the center of the cake collapsed. Second problem, when I got the black and green on, my daughter sprayed soda all over the top with her straw. When I was done, I had it nicly displayed on the table when I walked by and found 10 little holes all over the top. I assumed it was my 3 year old - so as I started to scold her, I found out it was actually by 8 year old.

This was white cake made from a box mix. Filled with buttercream, covered in fondant. All the decorations are made out of fondant as well. The idea of the cake was a table of shower gifts received as well as a few personal items ie. wedding rings, house keys, a dog bone. The theme for the wedding was lemons and limes so I had to put one of each on the cake to tie it all together.

I made this pool table cake for my husband & my dad on Father's Day last year. They were really surprised because they were outside working together & when they came in, I had created this cake! I thought of decorating it this way since they both like to play pool.

My father in law loves to play Texas Hold'em. So I made him a poker cake. Got it out of the 2006 yearbook. Made out of MMF. Lemon flavor with lemon filling, his favorite.

This cake is covered in fondant. I used a straw to punch out the poker chips, and cut the cards with a ruler out of fondant, then used an edible marker to decorate them. It was my sons idea to decorate the cake board with real poker chips.

This is a craps table I did over the weekend. All hand painted on fondant. The sides were made to look like wood, using chocolate fondant and a needle tool as well as brown luster dust. The only part of this cake that is not like a real craps table is the height of the sides. Craps tables normally have very high sides to keep the dice in, but in the world of cake, you sometimes need to make alterations. The cake was only 11x15 and the size of the lettering couldn't be reduced or it would be too small.

We are having a BBQ at work today and all the associates will be voting on the best side dish and dessert. I brought in a 9" 2-layer white chocolate cake with white chocolate filling. It's covered in MMF and I handmade & handpainted all the food (made out of MMF too).

This is my son’s 1st birthday cake with a fish theme. On top is the fish, which is too big to fit into the fish bowl. The fish bowl sits on top of the table, which was supposed to be the birthday gift tablet. Hence, the gifts are 'under' the table. It was 'very time consuming but very worth the hard work!

This is a cake my friend Melinda made for her twin girls birthday. I sent her several "ideas" from CC and this is what she came up with. It is a double 8" round frosted covered with a MMF tablecloth. After the MMF was rolled out she laid a doily over it and "colored" in the pattern with an edible ink marker. Then dusted the rest with luster dust. The tea set is plastic from the toy store. Her girls really enjoyed being able to play with it after the cake was finished.

This is a groom's cake I made that's shaped like a pool table. The cake is chocolate with buttercream and chocolate buttercream icing. The cake board is covered in chocolate brown fondant, and so are the pillars that I used for the legs of the pool table.
