The lady who ordered this was a was totally last minute and after the order when she asked for the price, and I told her, she told me not to make it I did what I could to accomodate her...and because I like her son (he's the cutest 3 yr old) I made her this size for the price of the smaller one..she didnt give me any details about what she wanted except "football" and "Steelers" I'm just afraid she won't like it...THIS IS STRESSFUL!!!

My 13 year old daughter made this cake for her teacher using a fondant logo on a buttercreme frosted cake. She printed the logo from the Steelers website. Her teacher not only enjoyed the cake but also a Steeler victory over OUR DENVER BRONCOS!

This is a half-sheet and two 8-inch rounds. All the decorating is free-hand and was very nerve-wracking, but I had a lot of fun doing it! Not until after I had delivered the cake did I notice the out-of-line yard-line! Oh, well.

This was a 9"x13" chocolate sheetcake I made for my husband to take to his work potluck for the superbowl. I bought some really cute helmet and football sprinkles for the borders and the team logos were just hand done with buttercream. The entire cake is buttercream.

My very first try at the frozen buttercream transfer...the letters bled together a little bit but overall the cake turned out ok...and least it tasted great and the STEELERS WON THE SUPERBOWL! Wooohoooo!

My husband calls these my "blasphemous cookie order". (He's a Colts fan!)

These were quite hard! Those little diamonds are pretty challenging to get right. Well, at least it wasn't the Vikings or anything! hahaha

My boyfriend and I made this in a dorm kitchen at college the day before the Super Bowl on a whim, so it's not my best work. I used yellow pipe cleaners for the goal posts.

this is a cake i did for a lady my mom works with. the whole family is steeler fans and this is what she wanted. its a white cake in a 14x10 pan with rounded sides. BC icing all the way. first time i have done one like this and thought it turned out well. the middle of the icing broke up on me when i picked it up. the board bent a little on me. i hate when that happens. all in all i am pleased with the outcome.

My son did this cake last year when he was 8, when I was first starting the Wilton courses. I always bake the extra batter and let the boys have their fun with that if their in the mood for decorating lol.

This was half french vanilla, half devils food with white choc. BC frosting. Sprinkles for the fans, fondant emblems, football and birthday sign with gum paste goal posts. The 10 candles I thought looked like the lights in a stadium. My son and his friends thought it was the greatest, thanks tawnyachilders for the inspiration.

Thanks to alengirl & kittiskakes for their help & inspiration. This was a B-day cake for my husband who is from Pittsburgh and LOVES the Steelers. The side decorations are all choc. transfers. The middle layer is pineapple cake w/ cream cheese frosting & pineapple cream cheese filling (YUM!) and the bottom is choc. ghiradelli w/ ganache filling & hershey syrup buttercream. YUM!!! I know where I could improve - but this is the biggest cake I've made and I think it turned out pretty good! Hope you like it :)

This was my first time trying MMF. What a wonderful discovery from this wonderful site. 2 - 8" round cakes, topped with 1/2 of the sports ball pan, then carved down to form the head shape. This was a surprise for the groom, who loved it!

I think if I ever HAD to make this again, I'd make a chocolate BC frosting and do just the plaque. It was my first chocolate transfer. (im a cowboys fan.. dont want to EVER do this again LOL) but sons bday was perfect time to try the transfer. he loved it!!! All that counts! (didnt have time to further decorate.)

This is a 9x13 sponge cake with cream filling. I was given one day notice and came up with this design. Had I more time I would have got some football candles for an added touch.

I wanted to duplicate alengirl's design, but ran waaay short on time. It's my first fondant-covered cake and first 2-tier cake. Couldn't find black fondant in the stores, so got the advice to paint it with black gel mixed with vegetable oil. I kind-of like the effect! My DH made the bride & groom footballs and helped a lot with throwing it together at the last minute.

I made this for my Sister Inlaw and Bother Inlaw. It was the Grooms cake at their wedding. He is a big fan and didn't want to cut it. I did one for the Browns, but can't find my photo. I used Rice paper to draw the helmet and used the star technique overtop. It is one of my favorites!
