This cake was for a beach themed baby shower. The mother was using the set from Baby Gap. I used individual small cake pans (sports balls) for the octopus and the turtle. The crab and starfish were molded out of extra cake.

Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder and the seahorse were given to me by the mom. All the other creatures were made of MMF and dusted with Luster Dust, unfortunately it doesn't show in the photo. The sea is BC covered with Piping Gel but it doesn't show either, Ariel is standing up because her body doesn't bend.

This is my first "official" wedding cake. The couple was married in Mexico on the beach, then came back to have a beach themed reception. The cake is white w/ cheesecake filling, chocolate with pb filling. The icing is buttercream and the shells are candy molds with lustre dust.

This cake was a lot of fun to make.

I did use a letter press for the writing - something I never use anymore. I have recently found the key to good writing is in the consistency of the icing, it needs to be runny enough to flow smoothly and just firm enough to hold shape.

Bride decorated reception with bright colored starfish and wanted to continue the theme over to the cake. Wasn't sure how it would look but think it's now my favorite seashell cake.

I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She has a fascination with fish. Unfortunately I ran out of time and oomph so it wasn't as detailed as I hoped! It was still a hit at the party!

This cake was inspired by the beautiful one done by Nunuk which I have gazed at for months... Thanks also to Nunuk for being so helpful responding to a pm months ago also. The cake did not turn out how I would have liked and I feel I got a bit carried away sticking shells on! Saying that, the girl who it was for.. loved it! Thankfully!!!

A collaboration effort with CrystalR. She did the cute margaritas, the suns and the starfish. I did the dolphins and the flamingos. We use NFSC and another sugar cookie recipe; also used Toba Garrett's glace icing. It tastes so good! I need to work on my cookie decorating skills. :)

I made 6 DOZEN of these ( in addition to the cupcakes) as a donation for a dear friend who works with a group of at risk girls....they are having a Hawaiian themed fundraiser to earn money for the girls summer camp!

TONS of work but so worth it! This is my cookie part of the gift
I have close ups of each cookie on flickr.

I made this cake for a charity raffle at work. Not only did the winner "take the cake", but all proceeds from the raffle were donated to the non-profit charity of the winner's choice (The Red Cross). I had so much fun making this cake. It's a 12" dark chocolate with ganache filling, 8" vanilla-almond with buttercream filling, both covered in MMF. The castle is white chocolate. The mermaid, shells, and other figures are MMF and/or white chocolate.

My son wanted a shark cake with lots of other sea life so I made this.
It is only the second cake I've ever decorated and all the creatures are fondant. I shaped and cut out each one individually and let himhelp me place them where he wanted them.

This is the other side of the cake. Other than the shark, this sea horse was his favorite creature.

Made as a 5th birthday present for the daughter of one of my oldest friends, it took me about 12 hours to make because of all the details but the look on her face made it worth every minute. Loosely based on Debbie Brown's mermaid cake with an Ariel the Mermaid twist on the theme.

This cake was for one of my friends for their 1st anniversary. The top of their original wedding cake got ruined because their feezer went out, so I made them a replica of it. Its carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream covered in fondant with fondant seashells. Thanks for looking!

This was a nightmare from beginning to end. The design was to incorporate shells, flowers and yellow & periwinkle. Humidity was over 80% all week and nothing would cooperate. I am a Critique Subgroup Member.

This is definitely not my best work. I do not have a lot of experience with carving cakes and found it a little difficult to get Patrick's shape right. I was also behind schedule and hurrying a bit. This was actually a graduation cake for a customer's son who adores Patrick. 12x18" carved into Patrick's shape on top of a 12x18" layer. Decorated in buttercream.
