This cake was for a baby shower for a co-worker. The family chose a 'Sea Life' theme for the nursery so I tried to copy the design of the theme as much as possible. It is all done with buttercream icing.

This is my first cake - I'm on number three now and it's amazing how much room there is for improvement! lol... I made this cake for my niece's bridal shower - she is having a beach wedding this summer.

Thanks for looking!

Studied and experimented to be sure this turned out right. Not quite a cookie or a cake. Made for my mother-in-law's 50th birthday to say she is a pearl after 50 years. Tortilla cut into a scallop shape and baked into a bowl, covered in melted white chocolate, then brushed on pearl dust. Added a dark chocolate edge (lots of pics of oysters had it where the top shell broke off). Pearl is made of white chocolate plastic with pearl dust too. Starfish: white/dark chocolate combo and white choc/peanut butter.

This couple was married in Mexico last week, but had their reception back in Vancouver this weekend. I boxed 200 of these cookies and sent them with her Toronto guests as their carry-on luggage on the plane ride there!

This cake was adorned with mmf starfish and shells made from a fondant mold. I airbrushed them lightly to give them a realistic look. Waves piped on cake and pressed flat with cornstarch-dipped finger.

I made these cookies for the church's VBS, themed "SonTreasure Island". I'm not much of a cookie baker or decorator, but this site made this task easier. Whew - I have a new found respect for the cookie decorators out there!

I used a crusting buttercream to create a marbled fondant look on the base of the cake. White chocolate seashells, rice paper pinwheels. The sandcastle was baked in a shaped Bundt pan, I glazed it with apricot preserves and sprinkled it with superfine sugar to make it sparkle. I have another version in rolled fondant I will post later. I was pleased they came out so similar!

Client requested a "Cake for Two" (6") playful beach themed sand castle cake for 50th anniversary. I asked if a crab couple would be fun and she agreed! It was fun to make and easy. Chocolate Shells, Fondant Critters and Brown Sugar Sand. Top tier is a ice cream cone.

This cake was so heavy. It had four 9 x 3 inch layers and 1 12x2 inch layer as the base. I was attempting to make a top hat, but then I couldn't figure out what to decorate it with and somehow cake up with the underwater floral theme. Not sure what I was going for but everyone liked it at the party.

This is a small (6") cake I made for a friend's bachelorette party. Her wedding theme is starfish and her invitations featured a terracotta cardstock with gold starfish. The cake is devil's food, torted in four layers and filled with white and chocolate BC. Iced in copper BC, with white BC "waves." Topper is demerarra (sp?) sugar, and the shells are made of white chocolate and peanut butter. I painted pearl luster dust on the shells to brighten them up. Thanks for looking :)

This cake was fun to do and loved by everyone at the party. I was at the party and cut the cake. I made the kids laugh when I took the body out of the cake and then proceeded to take the ariel head off (just for fun), the 4 and 5 year olds said AHHH and laughed. Too cute.
