This was my first character cake, I didn't know all the little secrets then that I do now, but that's how we learn right? This is all buttercream frosting done with a variation of tips.

For some reason it didn't download the bottom part of his pants so I had to crop it... but you weren't missing anything, only more chocolate for his pants.

I would've put this under children's birthday cakes, but it was for my husband. He insisted on Spongebob for his birthday. This was my first shaped pan cake - a little more difficult than I anticipated but not bad.

I think this was my second free-handed image. BC. I used red sanding sugar for his tie.

I free-handed this image onto a sheet cake. It was the same image used on the birthday party invites. Lots of fun and a hit with the birthday boy!

The second spongebob squarepants cake I made. A three tiered cake all lined up at the back of the cake. Next time I will dowel rod a cake like this because driving it was a real test of patience. Colorflow characters, royal icing flowers. The pineapple house was a styrofoam ostrich egg dummy with the bottom cut off and iced in royal icing. The leaves were construction paper attached with wires. I got the idea from a cake on this site but I am not sure whose cake it was.

I made his cake for my bosses son's birthday and since I couldn't write on spongebob I added a 8 inch oval cake to the bottom and it looked like he is standing on something. It turned out good but I had trouble with the hands.

My son is a big spongebob fan!! this is very simple, a large rectangular cake with a few slightly wavy bits cut out of the sides and bright yellow icing. For his hands and feet i just used coloured icing. this is one of my favs!!

This one was for an 8 y-o girl. First time doing this with chocolate icing. I think Bob looks better on a Brown back-ground than on a white one.

This is a chocolate cake, with chocolate and raseberry filling...topped with chocolate frosting and covered in fondant. All details are fondant. I used plastic figurings since I was short on time, and used brown sugar for the sand look. Everyone said it was yummy, and my nephew loved it! He's a HUGE Spongebob fan!

This was inspired by Cambo here at CC. This was for my son's 3rd birthday and had 3 different types of cakes layered within. He loved it so I was happy! :o)

This cake is for a Nickelodeon themed birthday party. The characters are cut out of wrapping paper (mostly), covered in contact paper, and stuck to the cake. I originally had some fondant shapes stuck to the cake, but took them off because I didn't like it. I know I could have done better but time ran out!

Spongebob birthday cake made for a little boys 4th. They really loved it. I had chocolate transfers that didn't come out so hot so I stuck them on the back.

I absolutely hate doing this cake, but he turns out pretty nicely. Another cake where the instructions are wrong/incomplete.

My nephew made this for his school fair cake competition. He worked hard and didn't have much help from his mum, but unfortunately the judges weren't as impressed as we were.

I did this cake for a little girl that is frilly, but loves Spongebob also! I decided to add some flowers and gummy hamburgers around him. I was pleased on how it turned out and she loved it. The cake was white with creamy lemon filling and BC icing. Thanks for looking!

This is one on my first cakes and I made it really fast. Even though it is really messy, I still like it. If you try this one, let the jello set a little before pouring it in to the "pool" and make sure you line it with lots of icing first! You can see where some of the jello tried to escape between layers!
