This is a FBCT, I put the comic book in the picture in case you aren't familiar with Sonic X (so you can tell it's supposed to look like that!). My first attempt at basketweaving, had no idea it was so easy!

Cut out of two 9x13 chocolate cakes (chocolate crumbs ugh!)... Its hard to get all the colors completely smooth but the photo hides some of that.

This was for my husband's birthday, he is a game programmer. I just cut Sonic's shape from a 12" round and started decorating into Sonic, it was hard to smooth those spikes though. The cake was strawberry swirl with cream cheese filling.

I made an 8 inch round cake and put a patchwork cutout of Sonic on the cake. My son was pleased but I was a little unhappy as Sonic is not in the centre. But that is me being picky.

this was done for my boss' son's bday. she brought in the pic and wanted me to try to replicate it. i had a really hard time w/ the orange layer (my first time using rolled buttercream and i think i need more practice lol!). the top and bottom layer are choc and the middle is a funfetti rendition. sonic is missing his shoes b/c they were too heavy and kept pulling on his legs. everything is mmf except for th orange. thanks for looking!

I made this for my son's 8th birthday. The characters and small "chaos emeralds" are made from mmf. The big "emerald" wanted to tip over even with the dowel, so I didn't get it as smooth as I'd like. He's thrilled with it, and that's all that matters. :)

This cake was for a customer whose husband was turning 60. It’s a big joke at their house that every time she gets take-out for dinner, he yells “Kill me!” (cuz this kind of food is bad for him). Anyway, choc and yellow cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents. The hamburger was yellow cake with fondant. Time consuming, but really fun cake to make!

For an 8 year old who loves Sonic the Hedgehog. Tried to make it look like a scene from the game.
Buttercream icing and fondant accents. Lots of fun. Inspiration from CC on the Sonic figure.

This cake looks easy but it took me forever, especially putting all the checkers on. The rings are lifesavers!

9x13 white cake iced with BC. I made an edible image of Sonic and of course they wanted a couple of mice on it since he is a typical boy.

All buttercream with black piping. My Fiance decided he had to be cool and help, so I blame all imperfections on him. No character pan, very popular with all of our nerdy friends.

Another version of the sonic cake. This time for an 11 year old girl who requested the same cake but with the girl character Amy Rose. Sides of the cake are still done to mimic the landscaping on the game board but changed it up just enough!

Sonic's friend, 'Rouge the Bat' cupcake turned out great too! Was happy with her! And she went to one of the lil girls in the neighbourhood! Was fun to do but took a while to construct! What a day i had making all the Sonic characters! What spoilt kids too! No birthday just ME wanting to get a portfolio together & get experimenting with what can be done with fondant, cake & imagination! :) Plus patience to do lil details! But I could do this forever I love it so much!!

This is a screen shot from the X-Box 360 game Sonic Unleashed. i made the big Titan guy with rice krispy treats and covered him in candy clay. Sonic, the walls, the plants, and the yellow diamonds are all candy clay. The round cake, itself was covered with buttercream frosting.

Made this for a friend. All BC; FBCT; 11x15 sheet. I had no idea who Sonic HEdgehog was until I looked him up on the 'net. My kid told me "Geesh, mom! In the game world, Mario is Coke ... Sonic is Pepsi!" Live and learn!
