This is definitely not a pretty cake. This was for a Metallica fan. I cut the skull out of fondant and my boyfreind did the detail with the Ateco food color markers (best food color markers ever!).

Jack's head is cake from the sports ball pan. Shoulders are an 8" round cut in half and standing up side by side. Stripes are painted with silver luster dust. Neck is cardboard paper roll. Everything is frosted in buttercream. Bats wings are paper. Totally inspired by MelC's version.

I'm sure most other skateboard cakes are in the kids section, but here's one for a grownup! Pretzel rods and donuts for trucks and wheels, and a white chocolate free-form skull!

These went with the pirate map. They are having 2 parties. The skulls are rings and the bones are royal. They started taking the purple out of the black flags but it was a cool effect.

Choc cake with bc and Gumpaste accents. Made for a 5yr's old birthday, everything handmolded, made and painted, except for the large gold coins and the 5 stones on the beach, they are storebought chocolates. Treasure map is done on an extra cakeboard, picture to follow. Had 1 1/2 days to come up with the design and get everything done.

I don't know where to put this - birthday cakes, or Halloween cakes. This is a cake for my friend. We all LOVE Halloween, and do our own haunted house every year. He turned 22 yesterday, and this was my gift to him. Choc. cake w/ white choc cream cheese filling, buttercream icing. All bats, ghosts, skull, and tombstone are made from Tootsie Rolls. Hope he likes it!

3D skull cake made from the Ultimate Yellow Cake recipe, with vanilla buttercream, and MMF to decorate. I carved out a cavity in the skull area to put a nice big glob of strawberry jam for its brains. It oozed out really nice when it got cut. I also crumbled homemade chocolate cookies for the dirt and laid out candy corn to say Happy Halloween.

This is a yellow cake with chocolate icing that I made for our Halloween Party last Saturday. The smaller skulls are suckers I found and the larger skull is one that lights up and changes colors. Everyone loved the cake!!! This was a last minute cake so I am pleased with the way it turned out!

Treasure has been buried in Skull Island. These pirates got hold of the map and have now arrived to get to the treasure. A choc piece wrapped in gold foil was buried in the cake. The birthday boy used the map to get to the candy.

The skull and pirates were part of a toy set. I used sugarpaste to build the skull hill.

This was actually my 6 year olds birthday cake, but it fits better under Halloween. He saw it on this site in black and white and had to have it. I'm surprised I didn't own that Metallica poster in my younger days. This was my first FBCT. Next time I need to smooth more, but I'm happy with the results.

This was for a little boy who turned 8 and he was having a pirate party. We didn't want to use a black background so his mom picked sky blue. The skull and crossbones are fondant; everything else is vanilla BC on a yellow cake. Everyone loved it and I'm getting a few more orders from it too!! Thanks for looking.

Here's my first cake for a customer (one that isn't a friend or family member). The cake is a 1/4 sheet cut into a skateboard shape. I used a piece that was cut off to extend the board a little longer. It's propped up on a block of 2x4 covered with cake board wrapping paper. The wheels are mini-donuts. The kid LOVED it!

This cake is for a co-worker. Luckily it tasted WAY better than it looks! I used the white almond sour cream recipe (YUM!) and MMF.
