This cake was made for my ex mother-in-law - she was very into halloween, so for her party at work, she hosted a mock wedding for a skeleton bride and groom, which were reproduced on a smaller scale for the top of the cake. (She bought both the life sized ones and the smaller ones for this cake.) The cake WAS level when she took it to work! It doesn't look that way in the pic though....this was done 4 years ago I think.

This was cake that I made for a Halloween party, a chocolate sheet cake on the bottom covered with oreo dirt, and gummy bones. A chocolate chip cut out skeleton-made with color-flow on the top. The eyes were cut out to have flaming sugar cubes put in, although they never lit, lol!

THis was for a birthday, but I would think of it as more of a halloween cake. FBCT technique...was a little hard...but will get easier with practice!

The cake is covered with fondant. The girls are a combination of hand molded fondant and gumpaste, then hand painted. The skulls are granulated molded sugar decorated with royal icing. The flowers are hand cut and sculpted fondant and gumpaste dusted with petal dust. Then the banners are handcut sugarveil icing.

Regular boxed cake, made for practice. My first Halloween cake, ever! White cake, raspberry B.C. middle and all B.C. outside. I freehanded the skeleton, which is why he has two different sized feet! Orange frosting got way too soft, so pumpkins are wonky. Made for a friend's party.

9x13 cake with skeleton made of popcorn ball. Ghost & pumpkin made using mini ball pan. I had so much fun doing this cake & everyone at the party LOVED it! I believe it's from a Wilton Yearbook but I got the idea from looking at similar cakes done here!

The skeleton is modelled from a combination of fondant, gumpaste, and modeling chocolate. I used different combos for different parts. Gravestone and fence are gumpaste/fondant also. The "dirt" is cake mix crust.

I don't know where to put this - birthday cakes, or Halloween cakes. This is a cake for my friend. We all LOVE Halloween, and do our own haunted house every year. He turned 22 yesterday, and this was my gift to him. Choc. cake w/ white choc cream cheese filling, buttercream icing. All bats, ghosts, skull, and tombstone are made from Tootsie Rolls. Hope he likes it!

My brother in law LOVED his Metal Mulisha cake. Cream cheese icing. Crusting cream cheese black chain and barbed wire borders (recipe posted on CC by edencakes). Red fondant strip. This cake was headed for a disaster. 10x10 carrot cake was too heavy and started sliding. As a result, I used the fondant strip to cover the trouble and the "pull out" technique to disguise the sides. Fondant image on top. Cake board design taken from Yahoo, with my own computer font.

I got the idea for this one from the 2002 Wilton Yearbook. It was made for a halloween party, my husband was attending, last year. The skeleton was made with candied popcorn, decorated with buttercream frosting.
I just found it in one of my folders, and thought I'd post it. His skull is a different color than his arms, because the arms aren't candied, just stuck to it with buttercream.

Thank you for looking.

My Co-Worker is coming back from a 5-week holiday from O'seas and I thought I would make her a welcome -home cake. She does the filing, so the filing is now a mess 'coz no-one had time to do it. The teddy bear with a tear 'coz we missed her. Shredded paper overfilling the bin, and the skeleton? That's me waiting for my cup of tea that she makes for me every morning - am I spoilt, Yes.... A bit of fun - I hope it makes you smile. My DD made the teddy.

This is the logo for a tattoo shop that had a grand opening this weekend. I'm not sure which I find more amusing.. the fact that I thought this one came out better than my other skull cake or the fact that I have even MADE 2 skull cakes!

This has to be the strangest cake request we've ever had, but it was a lot of fun to make! :)
The theme was the Mexican "Day of the Dead" celebration (even though the customers are not latin at all, they just like it!)
The coffins are made of cake, iced in BC. The base, backboard, skeletons and wires holding the cross and flags are the only non-edible components. The dirt is oreo crumbs, the skulls are fondant/gum paste and everything else is gumpaste (even accents on the skeletons). 23"x14"x12"

The cake is yellow cake with buttercream grass tip. The dirt is chocolate graham crackers and the skeleton is a plastic toy. The eyeball are store bought gum balls. I made this cake for my nephew's fall festival. I think I made a total of 9 cakes so I was looking for something easy and fun to do. Thanks!

I made this for Halloween in the Park, last sat. We had a drawing for prizes and this was the runner up prize. The guy who got it loved it.

This was my entry for Pastry Chicago's "Haunted Creations" contest. I won! The "Bed" is 2 rectangular cake dummies stacked and covered with fondant. Everything else is a mix of either gumpase, fondant, royal, or modelling chocolate. Pretty much everything is airbrushed. Took me almost a month, working piece by piece.
