11X15 -- yellow w/ lemon curd. Flavor Right icing (they wanted this) with candy melt letters, words, 3-d block outline, and hearts. Blocks are yellow w/ no filling. This was my first time doing "real" blocks. Was happy with the end result. Crowd loved it.

Another view of name celebration cake. THe pic makes the blue look green, but it was really a baby blue. The other colors weren't as bright as they appear in the picture either

My first cake submitted to this gallery! I made this cake yesterday for my son's teacher's surprise baby shower at school today. I got the idea from a 1985 Wilton's catalog. I used writing tips, ruffle tips, a weaving tip, glitter & letter press. The colors are sky blue & lemon yellow. The cake itself is 12x18 and I used half a ball pan for the rattle. It took 3 & 1/4th cake batters to make this cake. I used white boxed cake mix & added 2 tsp. extra vanilla & 1 tsp. baking powder and sifted the mix.

Did this cake last night for a baby shower, Ended up really liking it, inspired by different color combo's that I've seen here on C.C., done in BC with fondant accents.

I used the Martha Stewart bee cutter I bought several years ago. I iced the body in pale yellow, iced stripes in black then sugared them with black sparkling sugar to make them "fuzzy"...then the wings are done in the brushed embroidery technique. Pretty simple, but 30 of them took 2 hours or so!

This is a baby shower cake for a baby boy. I used the bow technique on this website--first time-- pleased with it. (Needed to use gumpaste with the fondant bows since the bows were cracking :( ) I need more practice on the figures --- anyone have any techniques how to make them faster? :) The mother to be was happy with the cake. That's all that matters..right?

When a couple adopted an 8 month old, the ladies at church gave them a shower. I did everything very last minute just before the shower. The letters & booties are fondant - used cookie cutters. The back of the booties is coated w/white chocolate so they would stand upright (didn't have time for them to dry). They are dusted w/luster dusts.

Shower cake to Welcome little Ansley into the world... First time using Fondant, bought the already made from Wilton. My bow was droopy this morning when I checked on the cake for the 100th time..I'll have to figure out how to keep it stiff once it's applied to the cake... Thanks to Luvtodecorate for all her help and her inspiring cake... I hope the mom to be enjoys it... Thanks for looking!!

Still new at this decorating thing. I made this very simple baby shower cake for a shower I was hosting. The booties were so much fun to make. Everything is MMF. The cake is a doctored up chocolate and chocolate buttercream. Lesson learned with this one, don't wear jewelry or have long nails when trying to lay the fondant on the cake. LOL

This cake went perfectly with the theme for the baby shower. The first cake I saw like this was done so beautifully by Nati, that I had to pm her permission to duplicate. I have seen several on this site and I hope mine does justice to those who did it before me!! This is MMF and buttercream bubbles.

The football team gave a shower for the football coaches who were going to be dads soon. They asked me to do a cake that included the school colors and wouldn't be too girly for the guys but would celebrate the new baby girls. I hope I achieved what they wanted. This is my first attempt at chocolate transfers and I loved it! The cake is a doctored DH Coconut Supreme with BC icing.
