3 tier 10th Anniverary cake decorated for the Missouri State Fair. Chocolate shells, royal icing coral and used buttercream icing. It was a mistake because in taking it down it was soooo hot but I'm not that good at icing a cake in royal. Still was a good experience for my first time at the fair. Don't know how I did yet.

Got the inspiration from a cake here. I am going to add some coral but it is still drying. I'm not completely happy with my paint job on the treasure chest. I was going for a rickety look and it just looks sloppy. Overall, I'm THRILLED with it though! It turned out great.

The jewels inside the box are jolly ranchers, gold is rolos, pearls are fondant in luster dust, and sea shells are chocolate. I marbled the chocolate with coloring and then molded to add a realistic look to the shells.

I saw a cake similar to this one (but with flowers and just perfect) in a library book, and the bride loved it. Tiers are 12" orange cream cake with bc filling, 9" white cake with whipped choc. ganache fill, and top was also orange cream. All frosted with antique white bc. Shells are white chocolate.

This was my version of an under the sea cake. The shells, seahorses, starfish and crab were all done ahead in royal icing and then I just placed them on the cake when done. The rest is whipped frosting.

This cake was for a judge I've worked for for 18 years. I put on a retirement party. It was very difficult to do the cake and prepare a party for 50 people!!! So my cake was kind of rushed. Buttercream frosting with chocolate shells and fondant fish.

A trial-run cake for my niece's eagerly expected 4th birthday cake. A Wonder mold cake on top of a 10-inch round. The "rock" is covered with MMF. The mermaid's tail is molded ... my first time doing this! All flowers, shells and coral are MMF.

This was for a diving instructor friend of mine who is diabetic. Was quite tough as there is a limited range of things that you can do for diabetics.

This cake was a tribute to an aunt who passed away. I tried to make it just like she would have if she would have been here to make it. Just like she taught me. Each tier had both chocolate and yellow cake with almond BC. The shells were made with white chocolate swirled with milk chocolate. She loved living at the beach and was a member of the Pleasure Island Parrot Heads and the Turtle rescue mission.

This is a replica of a wedding cake found in a bridal magazine. The original cake is by Anna Carreiro from Scrumption Inc. Instead of gumpaste shells, I used white chocolate for all of the shells and the monogram. The pearls are made from fondant. The cake is iced in buttercream with fondant stripes on the top tier. The bottom tier is vanilla, the second tier is chocolate and the top tier is vanilla/ strawberry marble. Dimensions are 12" round, 8" square and 6" square.

This cake was done for a young man's Bar Mitzvah. He wanted
an octopus cake and was thrilled with the cake I made for him.
It was a coconut cake with white chocolate coconut cream mousse
filling. The sand is crushed sugar cookies and the sea shells
were made of white chocolate and dusted with luster duster.

Made for my 4-year old neighbor. The sea shells are candy melts, and fish on the side, but you can't see them. Sorry about the terrible background...I had to snap a picture really quickly before they took the cake! This was fun to make.

My first seashell wedding cake, I looked forward to doing it for a long time! Used 4 different lusters to paint the white choc shells. Cake is 14/10/6. 10" is my first official Rum cake, too! It looks like the 10" has some overhang on the left, but it's just the camera angle .... no overhand. Sand is crushed graham crackers with gold sanding sugar. What I would do different: cover cake tops with sand BEFORE stacking so the entire top could be covered (duh!)

This was for a co-worker who quit to travel to Bali, Thailand, Australia, and Hawaii. It's a copy from one I saw in the gallery, so I can't take any credit for the design, but I'm a pretty good copier!

White cake cupcakes with gumpaste seashells for a wedding party. They were put on a bed of brown sugar to look like a beach but I don't have a photo of that. Buttercream icing. Idea came from Confetti Cakes book.

This was a gift for my friends wedding. All the teirs are cake dummies except for the top. I made all the chocolate sea shells and dusted them with pearl dust. All the real shells are from my moms own collection she picked up on the beach. Everyone loved this cake and had NO IDEA it was fake. The reason for making it fake was because I helped out at the church and that the travel time from my house was about 2 hours. I had sheet cakes in the kitchen for them to cut. French vanilla torted with red rasberry.
