I thought this cake turned out horrible, but when the professional photo came back, it looked much better! Iced in cream colored fondant with white chocolate shells to match.

Created for a shower for a wedding planned on the beach in San Diego, CA. Cake is 8" chocolate bottom layer filled with strawberry cream and topped with a 3 layer 6" Irish cream cake and iced with crusting buttercream icing. Ghiardelli white chocolate molded shells dusted alternately with pearl luster dust and gold luster dust to match frame of engaged couple. Sand was azucar brand.

Iced in buttercream with lots of gumpaste accents. I used molds and gumpaste for the sea horse and fish, and candy melts and molds for some of the seashells. I was inspired by a variety of cakes in the galleries. The sand is granulated brown sugar, and the rocks are chocolate rocks purchased on the internet.

Fifth and final in my series of 5 retirement cakes. Covered in blue marbled MMF and trimmed with graham cracker sand crumbs and sugar sea shells. Topped with a ceramic lighthouse that I found at the $ store and more sand crumbs. This cake represents more of where my mom would like to go and do during retirement.

5 Tier, 3 Flavor wedding cake in a beach/coral theme. Flavors included champagne cake with strawberry filling, choc/mint cake with choc ganache filling and lemon cake with lemon curd filling. I made all the shells from white chocolate. The beach 'sand' on table is a mixture of white and brown sugar.

Caramel cake with chocolate shells and fondant flip-flops for a Relay for Life competition. My daughter's principal asked me to make it because the caramel cake is my specialty. The elementary school team took first place with this cake--my daughter was so proud because she helped with the flip flops and the shells.

My girls were so excited to pick the cake they wanted me to make! It was inspired by a book I have. The mermaids, coral, and octopus were all made by hand and the rest was made using sculpey molds.

the request for this cake was sort of vague, so this is what I came up with when she asked for the top tier to look like water and the bottom to have plants and seashells.
6 & 8" rounds.

Tike cake with chocolate sea shells, gum paste Plumeria flowers and flames, and fondant star fish. Very fun cake to do and when I delivered the cake PBS was there taking photo shots of the cake, they were there to do a special on a Hawaiian couple at the party and raved that my plumerias were spot on! I was so happy!!! you can't tell in the picture (camera was messed up!) but the wood looked amazing, and we added small battery powered led lights that fit right behind the eyes it was awesome!

This was a nightmare from beginning to end. The design was to incorporate shells, flowers and yellow & periwinkle. Humidity was over 80% all week and nothing would cooperate. I am a Critique Subgroup Member.

This cake was for a couple's engagement party; they are planning a beach themed wedding in Florida next spring, and asked for a cake that fit that theme; 7", 9' and 12" tiers decorated in buttercream with white chocolate shells dusted with petal dust and graham cracker/brown sugar mixture sand; I purchased the chairs online; customer found the fencing at Walmart. Thanks to Cape Cod Cakes for the inspiration! TFL!

This is a red velvet cake, so it looks starnge for it to be blue with deep red inside! But the sea shells are chocolate and the palm tree is gumpast. The design looks like the invitation.

This was a wedding cake for a couple getting married at the beach. I used butter cream,
made sea turtles out of fondant, graham cracker sand, white chocolate shells, silk flowers
and ribbon. The couple loved it. I went with the theme but was elegant at the same time.

This was a gift for my friends wedding. All the teirs are cake dummies except for the top. I made all the chocolate sea shells and dusted them with pearl dust. All the real shells are from my moms own collection she picked up on the beach. Everyone loved this cake and had NO IDEA it was fake. The reason for making it fake was because I helped out at the church and that the travel time from my house was about 2 hours. I had sheet cakes in the kitchen for them to cut. French vanilla torted with red rasberry.
