Fondant covered boat with gum paste sail and nautical flags on a cream cheese frosted red velvet cake. The nautical flags spell the birthday girl's name. Wish I had more time on it, but oh well good enough.

Sheet cake made to match the invite. Not super excited about it, but mom loved it, and that's all that matters right? LOL SIF for the sun, waves & sails, candy seashells.

This was another cake that I made at my part time job. It was for Congressman Patrick Kennedy's 40th birthday. The other decorator made the full sheet cake and I made the entire sailboat. It's carved, covered in fondant and then I added the details and sails. The sails are made from gumpaste and were over a foot tall. I wanted to add more details but just ran out of time. The cool thing is that 600 people showed up for this party so a lot of people got to see my cake!

Chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and iced in chocolate buttercream. Sails are gumpaste, and Tootsie Rolls were used for the cannons and railing. Water is made of piping gel and blue coloring.

Simple design. I didnt get the best shot of it. It looks better in person, I think anyway.

This was done for a couple's anniversary where the wife loves to quilt and the husband loves sailing. It was done totally in buttercream. It took a while, but I really liked the result.

Boy did this one give me heartache! Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way. This was for a baby shower. I did the cake and cookies as favors, all to match the nursery and the invitations made by the grandmother. Cake is yellow with strawberry filling, covered in bc with mmf accents. topper is gumpaste. Cookies are NFSC with royal and tobas glace. I took a lot of inspiration from the beautiful sailboat cakes here and adapted them to match what the mother wanted.

This was for a 50th birthday party...a replica of the man's sailboat. I needed 50 servings so I got the idea to do the wave crest. Everything is cake except for the bow of the boat and a small piece at the back of the boat. The sail was gumpaste, and over 2 ft tall!

6" square cake. Fondant decorations on buttercream frosting. OK...what's the trick to the rope? I had a real hard time making it and still is not perfect.
