I made this cake for my husband's grandparents 60th anniversary party Saturday. When they got married they didn't have a cake so I wanted to make them one and this is the first one I have ever done.  It is not the greatest but it turned out OK.  It is all buttercream 10 and 6 inches.  I made the topper and the heart with coated floral wire and plastic beads. I wrapped the wire to a lollipop stick to insert it in the cake.  This was also my first try at cornelli lace!!

This was my first time working with fondant. It turned out OK. Since I had a very small wedding, I decided do make something simple. I made the roses myself too and still have them!

This was a three tiered wedding cake for a young couple in our church.  The bottom layer is half chocolate and half white and the top two are lemon.  One of their wedding colors was navy, but it was too hot for navy icing, so I accented with navy beading around the base!

This is the first cake that I have displayed at a Bridal show recently.  It is white buttercream with fondant heart decorations and roses.

This is my first wedding cake.  It is based on a Wilton design and the bride wanted the same color morning glories.  Flowers are made with royal icing and sprays are handmade.  The cake was fudge marble and the filling was chocolate ganache with Godiva Chocolate liquor.  I also used my own almond buttercream.

This is my first big cake!  I taught myself with the help from this site and help from the forums here.  It's a 3 tier, pineapple filling, with the white wedding cake recipe and I used the Viva Method Crusting Buttercream icing-I used salted butter which seem to cut down the sweetness.  Although the viva towel did not work-What worked was a water spray bottle.  It's not that smooth, but hey, it's my 1st cake and I'm teaching myself.  Thank to all who helped me with my ?'s and thanks to this site.  :)

This cake was for a couple who wanted a single tier as they didn't have a lot of guests or funding. Instead of making a very plain cake, I added the vines & other details. I was very nervous when they came, incase they didn't like it, but they did!  Thanks for looking!

The bride wanted the icing to look like stucco.  Real roses were used to accent.  This was my second wedding cake.

This is a three tier (12, 10, 8 inch; two 2" layers each); classic white cake with vanilla flavor.  Torted and frosted/decorated with vanilla flavored buttercream.  Swiss dots in buttercream and "celadon" green ribbon (from Wal-Mart!!).  This wedding was today (3/17)!!!  Everything about this cake went perfectly -- finally!!!!!!!!!

yellow cake with buttercream icing my first attempt at string work on a cake and doing the ruffles I loved making all the flowers and leaves and think they really finished the look

2 tier round with raspberry and lemon filling. Unfortunately...the lighting was terrible and I did not get a good picture. The cake looked better in person.

This cake is adapted from a Wilton design.  It is carrot with spice buttercream and sweet peas down the sides.  I also used fresh flowers.

This was my first 5 tier wedding cake, and on every tier was the couples wedding vows. Talk about a lot of work! Almost had a nervouse breakdown setting it up because it was so high. Not bad if I do say so myself...

The bride wanted pearls/dots everywhere! She even wanted a custom topper of fondant pearls and roses. Handmade pearls brushed with luster dust. Stand from www.cakesbysam.com.

14", 10" and 6" red velvet cake with crusting cream cheese buttercream.  Piped out about 1,000 loops.  After I put it together I noticed that I missed the marks to align the columns.

It is a 14", 10", 6", used tip #7 for the basket weave and fondant/gumpaste flowers and leaves and petals.

This was my very first wedding cake a few years back.  Much thanks to my sister for trusting me!  The design is the same as the beading that was on her bodice.  I used the edible dragees.

I gifted this cake to my cousin and her new hubby. the bottum layer is choco w/ raspberry cream filling. the middle is white with peach glaze filling the top is white with raspberry cream.  this is my first wedding cake, I think it turned out pretty good, although it shows I need more practice the fondant. comments or advice? oh yeah flowers are silk

Four Layers of crazy wedding cake construction. 
The bottom and top layers are red velvet with cream cheese icing/filling and the two middle layers are vanilla cake with buttercream icing/filling. The whole outside of the cake was covered in Marshmallow Fondant and buttercream decorations. I wouldn't say it's completely professional quality, but for my first time dealing with the fondant and working 46 hrs last week...I was happy :) and so were the guests!!!!

I made this cake for a friend of my mom's.  They were 12, 10, 8, and 6 inch layers all of different flavors and fillings.  I also had to transport it an hour away to the wedding reception.  The bride didn't even see the cake until she entered the reception and was thrilled at how it turned out.

This is a wedding cake I recently did.  It is all white cake except the bottom layer which is chocolate.  The layers are doubled and iced in buttercream.  I used pink ribbon and fresh roses to trim.

I made this for a bridal show.  I like it, though everyone was confused by the wedding rings.  People thought they were pretzels or something, lol.  I should have just put a monogram in there & been done with it.

Choc. Cake w/BC & choc. scroll work.  The couple wanted somewhat matching cakes.  My first time for using push in pillars but I think they are okay.  I also wondered how the white topper would look against them.  It was nice to see her beautiful smile when she saw the cakes.  Made my day!

This is iced in cream cheese frosting.  Not something I'd recommend, it's really soft!  The D in the monogram is fondant.  My first non-family wedding cake.

The bride informed me the wedding was at 7:30.  I get there at 5:30 to give myself 2 hours to set up, only to be met by a FRANTIC dad who told me "NO, everything STARTS at 5:30.  Don't ya know I was in a MAJOR PANIC!!!  I didn't have near the time to fix it with all the calla lillies i'd brought. I was just so disappointed with how it turned out.

This is the cake that gave me such greif this morning.  Thanks everyone for helping me calm down!!!  The tiers are all different flavors (sm-lg:) French Vanilla, Strawberry Jello Poke Cake, Chocolate, and Italian Cream.
The cake stands I custom made for this cake...the bases are actually candle pedestals/pillars I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  They are topped with plywood circles that can be interchanged and bolt onto the tops (I LOVE how they turned out!)

This cake took me a long time to make.  It's a lot of firsts for me.  I have RA and I have never made this many roses before.  It's my first paid wedding cake.  It's also my first time with a filling.  It was really scary!  This cake ia all white with a raspberry filling.

This is just a better shot of the seashell cake, the other pic. didn't show any details on the fondant seashells.  Seashells decorated with petal and luster dusts.

This cake was a dummy I did for our cake design studio.  Inspired by a pic in the british cake mag.  I changed it up some by putting rolled ribbon roses on it.  This was my first attempt at ribbon roses.

Buttercream icing with edible fondant pearls covering entire cake.  The wedding was done in red and pink, which was a beautiful color combination.  Fresh flowers adorn the cake.
