We used 14 dozen roses and it only covered the sides and front. 2 things of baby's breathe. So if you were making this cake and you wanna get an idea how many roses to buy... I would get atleast 25 to 38 dozen roses and 3 to 4 baby's breathe if you want baby's breathe.

Wedge shaped white cake with apple filling iced in BC. Notebook made of fondant with tylose and notebook paper is rice paper. I kicked the teacher out of her classroom for about 10 minutes and had the kids each write something nice or just happy birthday on a piece of rice paper with edible ink. I then "filled" the notebook with these pages. Pages are held together with floral wire. Cake is accented with gum paste flowers.

this was a cake i did for some friends that work at a store. there is 4 people that work there and 3 of their birthdays was in february. so i decided to make a cake for all 3 of them at the same time. it was practice for me and also special to them. i cheated on the icing for the roses. i went to wal-mart and got the wilton can of icing and it worked great. not the best tasting but it worked. they all loved it and i was "VERY" pleased with the outcome of it. the first cake i am truely happy about.

this was the last cake we did in course 1. i made it in such a hurry cause we were running out of time in class and i think it turned out very well. i am really getting the hang of the shell border now and love it. the icing for the roses is really killing and i know it will take practice to get it right. i dont really care for the icing bows

This was my first time to try draping, and also my first time making roses since the Wilton 3 class. I made more roses after I made these, but I guess the color settled in these overnight, so the roses didn't match, even though it was from the same batch of fondant -- so I had to strategically arrange the ones I already had. I love, love, love this cake. Everything is MMF.

My first time doing roses on a cake (other than practicing in class)! French vanilla, with whip cream and fresh strawberry filling, snow white buttercream frosting. This cake must have weighed at least 10 lbs!

this is a cake my mom and i did for a lady she works with. didnt like the bow and stems or the color of the writing but that is what the customer ordered so that is what the customer gets. all in all we were both satisfied with the final product. had a blast putting the roses on. one we dropped on the bottom left corner and she fixed the cake while i was digging the icing out of the rose. then once on the cake a leaf just happened to cover it

This is a 4" round cake. It was decorated for a woman who's birthday happened to fall at the same time as her nephew's and her SIL wanted to acknowledge her special day as well. Pink roses were placed instead of a bottom border so that there was plenty of room to write in such a small space.

Mini, 3.75" X 3.75". All buttercream. Similar to a purple mini I posted earlier this week. Unfortunately, chocolate crumbs came through to the frosting and the swiss dots (first time doing them) didn't work out. What did I do wrong? Hopefully, the 5 year old I'm giving it to will appreciate it :)

Here is our first attempt at basket weave.... more difficult than we thought and to make matters worse the only decent photo of the cake has a great big dent in the front that I put in it as I was positioning it... cry. 6 inch caramel mud cake with 2 layers of caramel ganache. Buttercream roses .. colour inspired by one of Natis beautiful creations. All feedback welcome.

I fell in love with this cake when I saw it on the cover of a Wilton decorating magazine. I just made it for Mother's Day. 6" round butter cake with bc icing and roses -- torted twice, one layer filled with caramel buttercream, the other filled with chocolate buttercream. First time making buttercream roses and leaves.

This is an 11 x 15 cake I made for my daughter's graduation today. I was pressed for time and did not do a very good job in smoothing icing (never leveled the cake which caused some problems too), but pleased with the simple decorations. Next time I do a rectangle cake, will have to attempt torting and filling - this would have been so much better with a filling but, again, pressed for time making this.

This was a gift for my boys music teacher, it is his first year anniversary. Chocolate Cake with white chocolate icing, white chocolate candy clay covering and flowers. Couldn't get the candy clay to lay smooth so I just pleated. I like the way it turned out.

This cake gave me such a headache, had huge problems making roses and had to make another batch of icing. It turned out great in the end, although they almost got drop flowers I was so frustrated LOL. Still have to work on my writing. I redid the 4 about six times and it still didn't look how I wanted, but I figured better leave it alone. Butter cake torted into three layers with strawberry preserves and cream cheese icing. Roses are all crisco icing after my failed attempts.

I found this design on this site and I loved it! I was given free reign over this cake design, so here it is! It was for a wedding shower this weekend. I had a hard time finding gerber daisies, so I had to subsitute. Thanks for looking!
