I was asked to do a cake from the Hugs & Stitches invitations, and got all excited, and then all the mom wanted was polka dots on the cake. Doh, how boring! So, I had a little fun with the smash cake instead and made a little rocket. :) Thanks for looking!

well, My first FBCT was a flop, so I ended up doing the rocket Logo freehand. My daughter was still pleased, I on the otherhand, was completly frustrated!

I found out from these photos that the mom had added the "4" candle after I delivered the cake...which, to me, wasn't necessary...but, hey, it's her cake! The best part was Michael was *thrilled*!

This was the cake I made for my son's third birthday! We had an outer space theme. I had his picture on it in his astronaut Halloween outfit. (I had to cut it out due to site regulations, but it was adorable!)

I looked everywhere for ideas for a birthday cake for a customer who wanted to do Little Einsteins. Since they are so new (and not licensed yet), I had a tough time! I whipped this idea together and wanted to share it in case anyone else gets a request and wanted an idea. I love and visit this site all the time because there are so many creative people (who I can't hold a candle to)...Thanks for looking and sharing all of your great photos!

I used half of the 3D egg pan on top of the Up and Away Balloon pan with twinkies in back. The balloon pan just needed a little bit of carving to round the edges.

13X9 FBCT of Space Shuttle for Retirement Party at Lockheed Martin in New Orleans. Learned lesson with this FBCT and did not cover entire back of Transfer with one color making it thicker. It stuck to the was paper! Yikes! Learned a trick though. Sprayed wax paper w/3M Dust Remover holding the can upside down (freezing) and it refroze the Transfer and I was able to pull the wax paper off! Of course I protected the cake; however, the can said not harmful if swallowed. Cake was too big for freezer.

This is made from a Wilton's football pan. I used some pound cake to make the part of the rocket where the flame shoots out of. I used craft foam for the fins of the rocket.

Thanks to Zaleski2 for inspiring the ball/round/twinkie structure of this! I threw this together real quick for my son's birthday. The cake isn't as neat as I usually want it done and my edible image tore but I think he'll love it just the same! I want to perfect this though, I love Little Einsteins!

The topper is made of hand painted cookies on sticks as a space shuttle, solid rocket boosters, and an external tank. The first tier represents the launch fire with cookie flames and the bottom tier, the smolke/steam. During the late night assembly, I forgot to carve the top tier in a conical shape. My son was still delighted nonetheless.

White cake w/ buttercream, covered in fondant. Cake parts were carved and covered in fondant. Cake was not quite dense enough to hold the edges of the rocket shapes...they almost look like they belong in the Adult category!!! But there wasn't a crumb left by the end of the party!

This was a 1/2 sheet, 2 layer chocolate w/ strawberry mousse & fresh strawberry filling. The two little green ovals were there to mark where the Buzz Lightyear toy would be placed. (I don't have the pic yet with the Buzz toy on it!)

My nephew asked for a moon and rocketship cake for his 3rd birthday, and this is what I came up with. I covered the ball cake in the MMF (first time using, I will NEVER go back!) and spackled BC icing for texture over the MMF. Fun cake! Learned alot, but still happy with results.

This 9 x 13 vanilla cake was a same day request for a church member. Iced in buttercream, I drew the rocket ship then filled it in using a #16 tip. The stars and moon were made of fondant with silver glitter added to complete the cake.

For my sons 4th Birthday tonight at Chuck E cheese....middle was the cake, top and bottom of rocket were dummy. Fondant covered, side "landers" were gumpaste and royal. Flames were foil. Cake was set up on a wood platform painted black and the smoke was batting spray painted with black and white. He loved it! I put Spiderman crawling on the side and my boy and Diego in the window.
