This was just a practice cake. I just wanted to try out the carving business. 6-inch cake cut in half, placed upward and then carved to look like cars. Buttercream icing (leftovers). Wheels are oreo cookies, gummies were used for signal and stop lights and fruit twists for the bumpers

I made this cake for my son's 6th bday for the school party.
One was vanilla and the other was chocolate sponge cake, with BC filling. For the track i used crushed oreo biscuits, as suggested. I saw this cake on another site and when i showed my son he wanted one .......

No-fail sugar cookie recipe with royal icing. All cars were done freehand. This is what I did in place of the actual cookie cutter in the shape of the car.

I made this from a Wilton Yearbook. It took some work, but was a really fun cake. People keep asking how much I would charge for it, but I'm new to cake decorating. Any suggestions?

This is a combination of many inspiring cakes. It's 2 8''x11'' cakes. Every thing is edible except the cars and the little flags. The cars can even go under the bridge! Thank you to all the others that have come before for the ideas.

I did this for my father-inlaw who loves sprint cars. This was my first print. I got it done at a local store. I now know to line up my words better, still not to great at the whole writing thing, any tricks? I also learned not to put the cake in an airtight container after putting the print on, it made the color run on the print by morning, so when I took it to the party the white part of the paper was a pale blue.

Sport sells pans and edible images that look just like an actual race car driver's car - endorsements and everything! Just a warning though- it took a lot longer than I thought - the decals come with white borders and you have to cut them all off. I used an Xacto knife and it still took forever and wasn't perfect. It took like an hour to get it all done. But the results are worth it - it looks so real! I cut the bottom cake into an oval race track type cake. It was covered in MMF.

My 6years old grandson designed this cake for his birthday. He wanted a Blues Clues one but his father opposed it and asked him to choose another item. He chose and designed this one.
