this was my second cake ever without any classes. once again i had problems with getting the icing on the cake and getting it smooth but i got it as good as i could and quit before i got to mad. if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it. im still playing with making roses and this wasnt a major cake for anyone so i wasnt too concerned but still wanted it to look good. i made the straps out of candy melts and corn syrup.

Just finished this one for a little girl who wanted a pink and purple castle cake . Buttercream with sugarpaste and royal icing accents. Towers are paper towel rolls with sugarpaste and ice cream cones with royal icing and sugar. I had to leave room on the tops for the Disney princesses she wants to put on the cake. I was very inspired by the castles on this site - thanks for all the great ideas!

Last minute cake I had made for my grandmother. I had like 2 hours to get it all done and be at her house for her b-day supper...This was the best I could do in 2 hours (that includes making cakes and making icing and tinting it..LOL)

This is my first ever fondant, tiered, decorated cake. I made it with mmf and did the snowflakes and tree details with royal icing. I got the idea out of the wilton book. I think it turned out pretty well, since it is the first cake I have ever done that wasn't your basic 13 by 9 pan or molded pan with buttercream on it.

This was a rough draft - I wanted to see if I could do royal icing butterflies - so I didn't spend a lot of time on the icing (buttercream).

I saw a cake like this at a bridal show and thought I'd attempt to re-create it. I think it turned out pretty good.

I was asked by my 6 year old cousin to make this for his class. To reinforce their alphabet and spelling they had snacks each day that represented one letter of the alphabet. While "umbrella" would have done just fine for U...he really wanted the joke of the "underwear". This was a white cake with lemon vanilla BC icing.

1/2 sheet cake, half and half. Buttercream icing, roses and rosebuds. This was for a friend of a friend. I really need to update my digital because it's not taking very true to color pictures! The cake is iced in a lilac color, the roses and rosebuds are a darker purple.

This was the whole reason I took classes and bothered all of you so much!! I stayed up that night with all my frosting and my fingers crossed that my first tiered cake would be good enough for my sweet little angel. It wasn't what I wanted it to look like, but I was very proud. And it was delicious, too!! White cake with raspberry filling for the bottom layer, marble for the center, and chocolate for the top. Fondant butterflies that miraculously dried hard enough...but I didn't decorate them.

This was for someone who no one knew she was married until almost her 1st anniversary, so they decided to celebrate both. I used lavendar and white alternating rope border. I also put small rosettes above the bottom border.

Yes...this was for a little girls first birthday. They found the picture in a wedding book. It is a 5,7, and 9 stacked cake. It's covered in light purple buttercream and all the flowers are buttercream.

This was a rush job. I started baking the 10" coconut and 8" chocolate on Saturday morning at 10:30. Made the cakes, the icing, the MMF, the royal icing dots and then after the dots dried I hastily painted them with violet luster dust. The cake wasn't settled well since it was freshly baked but I got it to my mom's house an hour away and then put it together. This was for my sister. She's getting married in Gatlinburg this week sometime! Dohhh!

I made this cake for my dear grandmother's birthday this weekend. I'm particularly pleased with the colors; they were achieved with the Wilton "garden colors" set of 4 pots (delphinium blue, aster mauve, juniper green, and a yellow). Icing and decorations are all Italian meringue buttercream.

My friend requested this cake for her daughters 4th birthday. This is the second time I made this cake. Sorry for the bad picture... The cake of the side is just an extra one I made to make sure there was enough cake for everyone..

The cake was made for a baby shower. I was having a brain freeze and could not think of anything to do in a hurry. I stopped by the dollar store on the way home from work and this is was I came up with. I thought it came out nice.
