This was my first cupcake tree made for my neices birthday. The cake is devils food cake alternating wth butter cake colored purple with cookies and cream filling. Basic white frosting with royal icing flowers. The cupcakes are lemon with vanilla mousse and whip n ice frosting.

2-layer 10" cake. The ballerina slipper ribbons formed some of the letters on the cake. One ribbon trailed over the side (not shown).

Everything is MMF. My 2 year old daughter "helped" me with this cake while I was covering it with fondant and adding the decorations. So, it ended up being much fancier than I had first planned because I had to keep covering up the areas she "helped" with...hahaha...anyway, I think it turned out rather pretty and my daughter had a good time, too.

This cake was a surprise for the wife of the music leader at my church. She likes pink daisies, her favorite scripture is Psalm 139:14, and she's a "girly girl" so this is what I came up with. It's a 6" round carrot cake with orange cream cheese buttercream and chocolate MMF pearls dusted with desert plum luster dust. The ruffle around the cake was piped using self-ruffling tip #416---it was my first time using this tip and I loved it! It took all of one minute or less(literally) to pipe the border!

This is my cake from the 3rd class of course 1. I made it for my aunt's birthday. We learned the shells and star flowers so I put them on my cake. I hope you like it.

I did this cake for my cousin's baby shower. It was a book themed shower. It was butter and fudge marble cake with BC frosting. I painted on the pages with black candy coloring. I had about 7 hours to come up with an idea and then make the cake.

Cake for my daughter's best friend's birthday. Had lots of problems with the bag handle. I made four and they all broke because they did not harden properly due to the humidity. Made another 2 and one broke. Placed the last one on the cake and took my photo. When I came back, it had fallen over and broke into three pieces!!!!!!!

A bit lumpy and shooting the picture at 1AM didn't do anything to enhance the pic. I used a loaf pan, but if I try this again, I'm going to use a larger sheet cake and build up the box instead. Also, used a marble cake, but the chocolate portions seemed to not "stick together" as well as the yellow. Live and learn.

These are 3 of 4 cakes that I made for my students -- just because there were so many birthdays during a one month period. Many of them have never seen fondant or had a chance to taste it. MMF; 2 white almond sour cream and one yellow. No filling on these ones. Don't know if the light lavender shows up or not, but they turned out a really pretty shade.

I made this for my grandma because she loves to sew and quilt. It didn't take long, and I wanted it to be spring colors since her birthday was this week and we are also celebrating Easter at the same time.

This cake was ordered for a homecoming in a church celebrating it's first time in it's new building. This is actually two cakes side-by-side and then frosted. One side is chocolate and the other is white. It's frosted in Buttercream icing and purple, pink and teal roses and green vines.

...so this is the cake disaster for my girl's 3rd birthday! All was going great until I dropped the pallette knife on the cake at 2.30 am ;'o(
It's banana cake on the inside with banana custard whipped cream filling and frosted in whipped cream&cream cheese frosting. The butterfly's body is RI and there's a little of Luster Dust snowflake sprinkled on top.
DD loved it nonetheless...

My mom did not want big cake, because she is a diabetic, so I made her this little one using her favorite colors.

This is not what I planned to do. I was going to make it blue, but the
person I'm making it for decided later that she wanted purple, and it
looks kind-of childish with the pinks. Also, I was going to put the 60 at
the top of the bow, but it broke -twice! Also, this is lopsided - the boards
buckled when I put the dowels in and the tiers shifted!

I keep learning more and more. This one turned out pretty good, but not great. It was my first time doing figures out of MMF. For a co-workers baby shower today, I hope she likes it. It was covered in BC and decorated with fondant. I need to practice my borders! Thanks to Doug for the tip on coloring the fondant, that turned out great, and to Melvira for the smoothing buttercream!
