This was a cake I thought was not going to get made. I was rescued by CC's own Traci Wood who was kind enough to send me the edible image. Turned out great and the customer loved it!

I was asked by my 6 year old cousin to make this for his class. To reinforce their alphabet and spelling they had snacks each day that represented one letter of the alphabet. While "umbrella" would have done just fine for U...he really wanted the joke of the "underwear". This was a white cake with lemon vanilla BC icing.

I was practicing drop flowers on a cake for volunteers helping in our office. This was a yellow cake mix with cake mix extender, the filling was strawberry preserves and I used buttercream.

Here is my youngest cousin's birthday cake. She's a tinkerbell freak!! Well she loved it. Her party started at 7pm and I left at 1:30am and noone had cut the cake because it was "too pretty". I just told them they were missing out on some good chocolate cake.

She wanted Bright Colors, so the Cake is covered in PINK, then trimmed in Bright Green, & Purple decorations. I cut a flip flop design from a piece of cardstock to make my pattern, then lightly pressed on the cake to make the imprint once the icing had crusted over. Then filled in with icing. Then to make the Straps for the flip flops, i used the Basket Weave Tip. I took a pointed object and traced out the words Old Navy on the Strap, then wrote old Navy with Icing on the bottom of the shoes.

Cake was designed from "Bullfrogs and Butterflies" invitation that the mother had. Short notice and quick work, but the customer was very happy.

DD 2nd birthday, she got to the fron of the cake before the picture. Was unhappy with the royal icing I used on the borders but have learned a bunch since this cake! Green tier is MMF, purple tier is BC. also learned a bunch since then about both icing mediums! Every cake is a learning experience!

Three tier polka dot cake for a my friends daughter. It kind of hard to tell but the buttercream frosting is a light green. I'mreally pleased with the way this cake turned out.I am still working on getting my buttercream smooth though.I got the idea from a lot of great cc members pictures. This is only my 2nd try at a fondant bow.

I decorated this cake for a friend of mines mother. She made the cake and frosting and I did the rest. By the way, I will never do that again. I almost lost the cakes to the hungary floorboard 4-5 times. Anyway, royal icing drop flowers on Cream Cheese icing w/ chocolate top cake and pumpkin bottom cake. Also, all the decorations were royal. Thanks for looking!!

I did this for one of my close girlfriends' daughter who just turned 6. She wanted butterflies, so she got them! I had free rein over this cake (YAY - I love that!) so I came up with this and asked Sara what colors she wanted the cake layers. Bottom layer is a dummy. I was going to put the name on top but when I had problems wiring it, I opted for a large butterfly instead. All butterflies are white chocolate with edible marker details, stamens and super pearl dusted on. There are cupcakes too....

Cupcakes to match Sara's cake. My friend was worried we'd have too little cake (even though there were at least 24-30 servings in that cake or so with about 20 ppl) so I used my leftover batter to make some cupcakes. Each kid got to take one home, so that was nice actually. Leftover white chocolate butterflies dusted with super pearl dust. Butterflies made by hand. Cupcakes displayed on the small Wilton stand.

This is a cake I did for my work. We had a goodbye party of sorts since we are all moving to either different floors in our building or another building completely (we just had a re-org). So we had a Fat February party. LOL This is a 10/8 tiered; bottom is chocolate, top is yellow, both iced in BC with fondant accents painted with gold luster dust. Mask is made of gum paste, but had real feathers and ribbon for accents.

First attempt at a whimsy cake. Did a mardi gras theme for church festival. Masks are fondant dried over styrofoam heads. Everything is edible except for the beads and feathers.

I found some really cool brushes called double time -- they have 2 and 3 sets of bristles -- perfect for striping, plaiding, etc -- of course I was a little over zealous on the cake below -- but they are really cool to work with --

I added extra long candles in between the blue dots which looked really nice. My roommate loved it so that's all that matters!

My first full fondant cake! I was anxious to do this, and it took me 10 hours, but it's done. DH helped a lot, colored the fondant and made 2 batches of the MMF. He's the best.
Top 2 tiers are devils food, bottom is lemon, both have homemade raspberry mousse filling!

10" and 6" round cakes decorated w/ fondant (including all decor and bows). This is same design as a previous cake I did (3 tiers), we scaled down to accomodate her guest count.

Requested cake for my good friends birthday who adores butterflies. Used the crusting cream cheese and carrot cake w/raisins recipes from this site. She chose the colors - blue, purple and green. The colors contrast better on the cake. Thanks to the Melvira Method for the smooth sides!!

I did these for the court of a Mardi Gras ball. The customer who bought them put them each in a beautiful box and presented them to the court. Pretty cool.

Cake I did for the McKinney, TX show. Earned a 2nd place. Carnations and swags are gumpaste. Can't tell too well in the pic but the striped cake is textured. RI stringwork on bottom tier.

Nobody around here really celebrates Mardi Gras, so I had to do a bit of research online for this Birthday Cake. I learned all about the King Cakes, beads and the 3 colours. (Makes me want to visit New Orleans next year!!)

I made the masks first out of gumpaste and detailed with tiny silver dragees. I used real ribbon for the masks.

Liked the idea of the harlequin pattern, so that was all done in fondant diamonds with larger silver dragees for detail. I copied the rope border from a cake found online.
