Fondant bow on the top picture was a complete disaster. I put the bow on the cake and started putting the flowers on when suddenly 1/4 the loops fell and broke. I tried fixing but gave up and went with the bow on the bottom picture. Thank goodness this was a practice cake. Next time I will use gumpaste. Fondant breaks to easy.

This was my first time using gumpaste and doing a bow. Next time I don't think I'll use white "glue" for the bow, but at least it was fun to practice!

Made this as part of Wilton Course III. My 2nd all fondant covered cake, 1st attempt at MMF. A few problems, but learned a lot. MMF was too dry, so "elephant skin" appearance and some cracks (able to cover some with flowers). When I trimmed the bottom, I cut it a little too short in some spots, so I tried to hide it with the bead border - class book called for tip 5, I used # 10 to try and cover my mistake. Overall, pretty happy with how it came out. Open to constructive criticism - thanks.

My first fondant bow!!! I think I came out pretty cute. It was also my first square cake so it was a new experience doing the straight edges. It is 6X6X5 Strawberry Swirl delight with strawberry cheese cake filling. Covered in BC and Fondant with Fondant trim and deco. It is for my husbands co-worker, for her birthday.

This cake was made for my friend's daughter's birthday. I was inspired by Traci, who makes some of the most beautiful present cakes I've ever seen.

Fondant bow and ribbon. Similar to the Wilton III cake. I made this for a friend and it's a 10" square, lemon cake with lemon mousse filling. White chocolate BC icing.

The color theme for this 2 year old's birthday party was pastel pink and lavender with gold stars. I created this cake to coordinate with the theme.

This cake is for my husband's cousin's sweet 16!
I had another cake (2 tiered) but it ended up on the floor just as i was decorating it.
Everyone told me to just go buy a cake, but I put this together in a few hours. I hope the bday girl likes it.

The graduate's mom requested a more "elegant" graduation cake and liked some of the present cakes I had in my cake album. Her daughter's high school colors were green and white and the colors of the college she will be attending are brown and white, so I used green, brown and white ribbon on the cake. The flowers I added are silk. Top layer is devil's food with cherry filling; bottom layer is vanilla cake with red raspberry filling. (Sorry the photo is a little dark--my camera's battery was running out.)

Had some issues getting the fondant smooth on this square, and had to add last minute bead borders to tidy up my corners. My squares definately need ALOT of fondant practice.

Course 3 fondant present cake. It was much easier than I expected and the fondant tasted much better with the cake and buttercream than it does by itself (go figure!)

All sugarpaste. Tiffany inspired, using Wilton's colour paste in Teal blue. This is also my first bow, I think it tuned out OK. Bow is cover with snowflake luster dust. Was lots of fun to do.

I made this cake for a couple who was celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows, big reception and all. I got the idea from Amy28. The bows and streamers are made from gumpaste then painted with champagne luster dust. Because I am just starting out, I made several mistakes throughout the process of making this cake. That's why the edges are not as straight as I would have liked them to be. I am learning more and more each time:)

I used the "my easy chocolate fondant" to make the brown. It was great! After letting it sit for a day, it set up and it was very easy to use... and it tasted like chocolate marshmallow fudge! yum!!

I meant for these to be a bit smaller, but they turned into 3" x 3" x 2.5" each!! Whoops!

They were the main dessert for a wedding of 120 yesterday, but only 30 fit on my stand. (The rest are in the kitchen.)

Each cake is a double-layer Roasted Banana Buttermilk cake filled with a thin layer of Cream Cheese Buttercream, iced with a thin coat of Madagascar vanilla buttercream, covered in blue fondant and detailed with a white fondant ribbon/bow.

I love them, but that's my last mini cake order!!!!!

I've wanted to do a stacked gift cake for a while. A friend from work volunteered to feed a group of homeless women and children for Christmas so this was my gift to them. Bottom is chocolate cake with peanut butter ganache filling and top is vanilla filled with cookies and cream. Covered in MMF with gumpaste and MMF bow.
