My boss' wife called me at work at noon on a Thursday to see if I could have this cake ready by Friday morning...I get out of work at 5pm. Anyway, it was an 8 inch round cake so I agreed. Instead of making a frosting power ranger I decided to make the foam cake topper and simplify my life. The kid loved it. It is a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting, home made red.

I made this for my oldest son back in 1996 when Power Rangers were all the rage. The fastest way to clear the playground was to yell "Power Rangers are on!"...boy did they all run home or to the closest TV set. This is from a character pan but the directions did not include the White Ranger so I had to free hand using my son's stuff doll as a guide. This was probably one of my very first cakes.

11 x 15 chocolate cake with a green power ranger bct. I wish I had gotten a better shot that showed the bct better. Anyway, my 2nd BCT.

I am finding that coloring MMF with too much color really messes up the consistency of the fondant...anyone know how to color fondant and still keep it really smooth? Anyway...airbrushed the black shoulder but hand painted the face.

Made for my son's 4th birthday. Funfetti cake, buttercream icing, MMF accents. Figures were a purchased cake topper kit. Taken at the bowling alley so the lighting is not so good.

I made this cake with bc icing (colored & chocolate). The river is icing gel and the trees are made with pretzel sticks and icing (the icing was melting off the trees because it was so hot outside!) The rocks are made with jelly bellys and robin eggs. The power rangers were obviously toys that I added. This cake was thought up well in advance but put together just an hour or so before the party! I flew have way across the country to made this cake for my godson and he LOVED it!

I did this cake for my mother-in-law for her birthday. The cake was a pineapple cake mix that I added a can of crushed pineapple and some coconut to. My husband suggested that I use my Flower Power pan and decorate it with all of the kids and grandkids favorite colors on each petal. Then I wrote the names of each person coming out of the center of the cake on the petals. We put her name right in the middle, along with her age. I thougth about doing one like this for Mother's Day too for my mom.

A lady handed me the plates and asked that I match the cakes to the plates. This is as close as I could match it.

A power ranger cake I made for my nephew - I used the canned 'decorating spray' for a paint effect and gold sanding sugar in the star area. I added gel colors in the batter - so layers of the cake were 'power ranger' yellow, blue and green.

This cake was a gift for a little boys 4th birthday, who is fighting cancer, and the doctors have told his family that it would be his last birthday. He likes Power Rangers, and I knew this cake would cheer him up. It was my first attempt at the 3D (Styrofoam head) sculpture. Next time I will probably use fondant to create a more "helmet" like head. Overall, I was happy with the outcome.

This little boy just loves the Mystic Force Power Rangers, and let me tell you, there just aren't a lot of pics of these guys to choose from on the net. The side detail reflects the visor on the helmet of each Power Ranger. FBCT, airbrushed background, crusting BC, choc. cake w/strawberry filling.

I made this for a friends grandson. My nephew, who is a huge Power Rangers fan, was very jealous and wanted to keep it for himself! I was a little disappointed as I covered it in edible lustre, to create the metallic effect of the helmet, but unfortunately it didn't show up too well.

I made this for my son's 7th birthday. I hate the glare the light above the cake left...augh.... It didn't really look shiney like that.

My son wanted a Power Ranger and a bad guy fighting on top of a building...this is what I came up with. Not my best but I tried. Doing the brick look is hard!
