Harry Potter theme for my daughter's birthday. School made of 1 strawberry and 1 cinnamon swirl cake with buttercream frosting. Turrets are cardboard paper towel rolls covered in fondant. Entire thing has a cobblestone pattern imprinted on it, ( can't see the details in this photo) and tops of turrets are sugar cones covered in buttercream. Flags and mascots are paper.

This is a full view of my cake that was previously posted as a close up. I had many requests for a full view. The cake was a Peter Rabbit baby shower cake. A yellow double layer 15X18 was iced and filled with butter cream. It was dusted with brown sugar and crushed graham crackers for dirt. All the figures and embellishments were hand molded by me and placed on the cake.

Wilton pan - Elmo w/ Ice Cream Cone. Outlined Elmo's body, but changed party hat to Hogwart's Student hat, ice cream cone became Harry's Nimbus 2000 broomstick. The book logo was printed on white paper and laid on the cake - non edible. This was, I think, the 6th cake I ever made - after completing Course I but before Course 2.

This is the cake I made for my daughter's 6th birthday. She had a Harry Potter theme. It was my first attempt at using fondant. It didn't come out like the picture in the book I was referencing, but she adored it!

Harry Potter cake for my neice. I made each of the scarves for the houses on the side of the cake and the sorting hat on top. I wanted to use the wondermold on an 11x15 but my sister waited till the last minute to set the party date.

made by stacking an 8" 9" 10" and 9", carving, then icing in buttercream and airbrushing black. the top hid a bowl so the customer could put in dry ice. the owl was made using 2 cupcakes and on a seperate board so it could be given to the birthday boy.

This cake was made for my son's birthday. I used the Wilton pan to make a castle cake, and decorated it to look like the castle in Harry Potter. The rocks in the background are chocolate rock candy.

Here is the Harry Potter Castle cake that I made for my sons birthday. I felt like I could have done MUCH better ... but he loved it and I guess that is all that matters. The icing was almost an orange/yellow color. It was suppose to be tan. Oh well, live and learn right ... lol

This is a buttercream icing with the Patchwork cutters book ends. The glasses frame is gumpaste and the lenes are made with geltin sheets. As far as the snitch its rolled up foil cover with golden yellow fondant and dusted with old gold. The wings are cut of from the trifolds lace. The sleeping dragon was hand molded and painted and placed on the cake before the fondant set up.

This is a chocolate mousse cake, covered with chocolate ganache. though I did not make the cake, I was asked to decorate it in a Harry Potter theme. I decided to make the Coat of Arms for the Hogwarts School of Magic, all out of chocolate. The receipent of the cake refused to cut through the image, removed the chocolate plaque & kept it in the fridge for weeks!

This was a cake I thought was not going to get made. I was rescued by CC's own Traci Wood who was kind enough to send me the edible image. Turned out great and the customer loved it!

These are covered in royal icing, and the stars are fondant made with "Wilton star cut outs" cutters. The icing is really purple, but for some reason it came out blue on the picture. I used the harry potter wizard hat cookie cutter for the cookie

Loved doing this cake. Colors are maroon and yellow like Griffindoor and I did the Maruaders' Map, glasses and wand out of MMF. The lenses were my first attempt at poured sugar.....I still need work on that!

Another client request. I tried to create this similar to the example on the CC website for the Harry Potter products... not quite the same, think the cake could have been a little bigger. oh well... there's always next time!

This was originally made for a friend who loved Harry Potter and was embarking on a new career, but would be very appropriate for a child's birthday. This is a 9x13 cake frosted with buttercream, the design is outlined also in buttercream and color is airbrushed in

My son wanted a Harry Potter birthday party a couple of years ago. I decided to make a wizard hat. I made the template for it myself. I was a little pressed for time, so the lettering at the bottom isn't great. I also made the "wizard's hats" in the background. Party hats with starry material glued on them.

Took this picture with my phone, so the picture is not
all that great. This one was also for a co-worker. He has
been reading all the Harry Potter books.

This cake is iced smooth with buttercream. Outlined image with piping gel and transferred to cake. Used a brushed effect since the invitation had a brushed design. Glasses and teeth made from MMF. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
