These are three cakes that I kind of threw together on Monday night so I would have something to bring to work on Valentines Day. The far pink one I had a little trouble with - I beat the icing on too high a speed - it was a new recipe and I learned quickly that slow is the key!

Pink swiss buttercream, fondant cutouts. Why is it I always think my writing is straight until I see it in a photo? I accept constructive critisicm please.

I saw this done on a cake here on this gallery and loved it so I did it on fondant as a fondant topper which she could keep as a keepsake. I did the fondant topper with vodka, powdered sugar and paste coloring.

This is the cake (as you can tell) that I did the fondant figures for. This is for a couple in our church. They left the design up to me and they just wanted it to be a "girly gir" cake. You can't really tell from this picture but there is a princess crown in the middle of the cake. The cake itself is White Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Filling and Buttercream Icing.

My daughter is giving a baby shower for a friend tomorrow so she asked me to make a cake. It's a 11 x 15 white sheet cake, torted with strawberry buttercreme, with a 4" fondant covered layer on top. Had fun doing this!

This was such fun! It's a double chocolate cake with BC frosting. I did all the MMF cutouts and placed them on the cake while the BC was still soft. The border was too fun to make. Now I'm looking forward to doing more with MMF!

This was my first try at fondant. Boy do I need to take a class! Make up was made out of white chocolate and then painted. I had lots of fun making this and learned a lot of what not to do. This cake was inspired by Karen.

Color / design depicted by the bride - different, but I kind of like it. It was done in fondant, strips of white, lighter and dark pink. Green hydrangeas were to be placed on top, wished I had a photo, it looks really plain w/out it.

hello, this is my first post on this site and i just wanted to know what people thought of my daughters birthday cake? ive been making cakes for a few years now but this is the first time ive made one with a purpose- i usually just make them out of boredom. it was suggested by some people that i start doing a small scale celebration cake business but im not sure im good enough-so i would appreciate any advice from all you experts, and please be honest-i dont get offended easily! :)

First Fondant cake ever. Done for twin girl baby shower. First time using fondant lace press. Loved it and had so much fun making this. Still tricky to get fondant from being "wavy" at the bottom edge but easily disguised with the lace and ribbon. All edible fondant except for pillow I made with satin ribbons to put the "Princess crowns" I found at a costume jewelry store. White satin stand is the one I make for my wedding cake to set on last year. Thanks for looking.

After lurking on this site for a few months, I finally got the nerve to actually make a cake. This is a six layer white velvet butter cake with lemon curd filling, raspberry IMBC, and pink MMF. All decorations are fondant and royal icing. What a time consuming and expensive hobby, but so much fun, and after making this cake, I am just in awe of the talent on this site!

I used a large heart shaped pan, with the sports ball pan set to create this cake. I used white chocolate fondant to cover the cake. It was a hit!

I did this one as a last minute order from a friend. I wasn't sure how to keep the 'look' of a Bratz so i decided to cut the front of the cake away so you could see her underskirt.

Inspired by Kerries cake from Bothams based in Whitby England. Its a tradition over here to keep the top tier of your wedding cake for your first childs christening. The lady who ordered this hadn't so asked me to recreate her wedding cake in pink. We then added the baby and name. This is an english fruit cake with marzipan and fondant

I made this in my wilton class. I wish we had had more time to work on this cake and make it more intricate or detailed. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it.

This is my first full fondant cake. And boy do I have some major learning to do! I made this for my own birthday. Just wanted to see how I'd do. I made some major mistakes and thank goodness pictures hide some of the flaws. That being said, it was really fun and I'm excited to use fondant more in the future.

PS. This is also my first stacked cake. A lot of firsts today!

Here it is! My second wedding cake. It was pretty short notice but I think it turned out ok. All tiers are my famous Double Chocolate Layer Cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting. The fondant bow on top is the first fondant bow I have ever made. That was kinda scary :) Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!

This 2-tier cake for a Valentines Day Wedding was iced in light pink buttercream, and then accented with ivory buttercream hearts. A pink fondant bow with ribbons trailing down both tiers crowned it.
