This cake is a design by Cakes by Dawna, or atleast based on the one she made. It's a 4, 6 & 8" tiered cake covered in fondant, royal icing dots and bow made of fondant also.

Here's the second gift box cake for the weekend. This is also borrowed from someone on this site. My customer found it and I couldn't find it, so if you see this and you made it, thank you for such an awesome design!!!

First paid cake! White and chocolate cake with buttercream and fondant accents. Hello Kitty made from fondant. Luster dust used to highlight accents. I can see the imperfections but am happy overall with how it turned out. Thanks to all who inspired me, especially Boween.

I designed the cake for a bride who wanted something cute but elegant for her brown and pink themed wedding! I wanted to enter it in the wedding cake contest on here but it ended today and today was the wedding so I was too late!!

Okay...this one has a story. About 1-1/2 hours before class, my cake fell apart! I had no time to bake another or even go buy an undecorated cake from a bakery because I live quite a ways from everything. So...I just turned over my pan and proceeded to frost and decorate it! It worked...I passed! LOL! (Although I'm sure it was just the instructor being nice! HEE)

Mauve and White Fondant over Buttercream. Ribbon Roses and Fondant Bow. This cake was made in a little over an hour and a half. This was my first attempt at a fondant bow and I didn't have enough time to let it dry completely (so it drooped on one side). All in all it turned out well. If I'd had more time to be creative, I would probably added a brim to make it look like a hat.

So I did this cake a while back for my hubby's co-worker (who was coincidentally, his best man in our wedding) when we found out his wife had a baby girl! Nobody knew she was pregnant! (They work nights so we never see the wives lol) They totally loved it...even if I had issues and couldn't get the extra pretty bow to hold up (it fell apart so I made do and did a flat one...oh well).

Hot pink is MMF. I made curlies, daisies and bow loops with Wilton pastel fondant pack about 3 days before so they could dry good. Make sure to tent your icing the same color as the bow so when you put it together and its pink you're not using white icing to "glue" cause then it'll show. Just start sticking curlies all over to cover up mistakes. Put daisies on the sides to cover mistakes too. Squirt a dot of pink BC for the centers. Then I rolled out MMF for the braided border. Not to hard.

So here's the second cake I've made. This time I bought a cooling rack and a spatula. I learned how essential they were. Inside is a strawberry swilr cake, which I got the recipe from here. It has bc frosting and fondant flowers and bow on it. I'm getting better as I go so I hope no one gets tired of cake cause I'm making another one this weekend!

Thank you to Nana784. I used the picture of your cake to make this one :) It was chosen by my customer because she thought it was so beautiful. My cake is Double Chocolate Layer cake with Bittersweet Chocolate frosting covered in fondant. I didn't have a diamond impression mat so I had to make the diamond design by hand. My thumb is still numb! LOL I hope y'all like it.

This is supposed to be like a pink and lime cake sugarshack did. but i of course could not pull it off like her! I like how it turned out, but it is just another example of how you can see the cake you want in your head, but getting it out onto the cake is something else entirely!

I finally had an opportunity to try the present cake tutorial. i really liked making this cake, but I had a hard time covering the choclate side on the top without getting crumbs everywhere. i think nect tiem I will reccoment fondant for the top at least... The cake is 1/2 choc 1/2 butter, buttercream with fondant accents. the bow and dogwoods are gumpaste. And the dots are hand rolled fondant coated in super pearl...what a PAIN!

Well, it didn't turn out how I wanted it to, but in the end everybody loved it at the bridal shower. My first mistake was that I was in too much of a hurry and didn't have time to freeze the layers after sculpting so it got kind of smooshed. Not bad for a first timer though. Does anybody have any topsy-turvy secrets they can share??

I did this cake for a cake auction at a benefit this weekend. It sold for $200!!! I was so excited!!! The cake was chocolate with peanut butter chips and Reeses peanut butter cup filling, and iced in chocolate ganache. The pink bow and circles were mmf.

I love MMF it was so easy to put on th ecake, not to mention it took less than 5 minutes to make the MMF. I painted on the cake with Wilton coloring gel by adding vodka to it to thin it out. I had so much fun. This was my 1st cake for my tiered and fondant Wilton Course.
