I made this for a friend's mother. I am really not at all happy with it. I did another cell phone a while back...but this one came out worse!!! Oh well...I did not charge for this cake and I know it still tastes good!

This makeup bag was the first thing I had ever covered in fondant. It turned out ok, but I think it was too thin or something.

I made this for a friend at work. It was pretty much a last minute thing. It's Duncan Hines Fudge Marble, with Bakers buttercream frosting. I used part of the cake that I cut off the bottom for the antenna.

I still need lots of practice, but I don't think this got TOO bad.

LOL Oh, and my cell phone. Heehee. My food markers didn't want to work on the rolled buttercream so I ended up having to "paint" the writing on with food color. What a headache! But I am so happy with the outcome. Thanks for looking!

I made this for my sister. I had no idea what to do until I saw my daughter's pajamas, made a copy and did a FBCT. It is a 6" with 9 cupcakes. I checking out the pajamas she has on tonight..another great cake design idea.

this cake was made for my boyfriends brother who has an obsession with mobile phones! seemed appropriate that this would have to be what topped his cake! cakes are sponge with fondant icing and writing done with an edible pen.

This is my first attempt at making a cake look like something. It was for my mom's birthday, she loves to talk on the phone. It's all bc except for the cord and numbers. I actually sculpted the phone to later find out it would have been easier to use cupcakes...oh well..I like the way it turned out. Thanks for looking!!

Made for my friend's 40th birthday party.
14, 10, and 8 inch layers (if I remember correctly!) Each layer was a different flavor, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. The "Target" symbols, cell phones, and letter B on top are made of MMF. She is known for loving both of these! Squiggles on top are beaded wire.

First of all, thank you to mkerton for all of her help!! She gave me the link to the purse cake done by gourmetcakes and mkerton gave me so much help and guidance so thank you!! 12x18 WASC frosted in buttercream. Purse is an 8" round cut in half and frosted with buttercream, decorations on the purse done in fondant. I made a batch of rice krispy treats and used that to form the cell phone and the flip flop. They are both covered in fondant. This is my first time using fondant

I had fun doing this order. I was initially asked to do a cake for someone that likes to talk alot on the phone. I was really inspired by some of the other bathtime cakes done on this site so decided to combine both ideas. Cake is - Spiced vanilla madeira with vanilla buttercream & jam.

This was a fun one to make. We were celebrating my sister and dads birthdays as well as easter so I combined it all into one cake. Thanks to Feefs for giving me the link to the 2 minute bunnies - so easy to make!

What do you do for a 17 year old boy? Cell phone or IPod of course.
He loved it, it was the perfect cake for my son. After two attempts using icing for the screen & numbers I didn't like the results so I scraped it off and used fondant then used a marker for the words & numbers.
That's his actual birthdate & time at the top of the screen.

usually cakes look better in the flesh than a picture, but in this case, the picture makes it look better than it actually was....ive NEVER been able to cover a cake perfectly coz it always rips! so i have to resort to cutting pieces (front and back) and sticking them together...i just wish i was good enough!
