This is for my daughters 5th birthday.. She loves strawberry shortcake. Used the Wilton petal pan. The cake is a lemon butter sponge with bc frosting stars and of course the ever faithful edible image. Sides did not come out the way I planned but we learn from our mistakes

I made this for the Red Hat Society in my area. Their main colors are red and purple so I wanted to incorporate both. The base cake is vanilla with pastry cream and strawberries. The dome is chocolate cake with whipped cream. Both are covered in fondant. The roses are fondant as well as the leaves and luster dusted.

This is an edible image on petal pan. Cake is a lemon buttercake with buttercream frosting. This was for my niece, it is very similar to one I did for my daughter but that was what she wanted so here it is.

Yet another order for a bratz petal cake, this is the 3rd petal cake I have done recently with an edible image, easy to do and what the customer wanted so can't ask for more. Lemon buttercake with buttercream frosting. Small plaque with gumpaste lettering

I took this Orchid class with Scott Wooley in NYC last weekend, amidst the blizzard! It was a very nice class...met women from as far as Turkey, Canada and some locals who were doing it as a hobby. He's a very good instructor; these were made in class!

Also my first time making fondant roses. I am so happy with the way it turned out! I made the decision to use fondant at the last minute so I wasn't able to make more roses though. Everything is fondant except the pearl spray by the photo. Edible image photo and writing. Thanks for looking!

Copied this idea from thw Wilton website, You can't really tell that it's the petal shaped pan used because of how it's decorated. It was my second time using the pan so I'm still figuring out how to use it properly! Feel free to be honest in your feedback- I welcome any help you can give. Oh - and yes, my writing skills on cakes is severely lacking!! Iced in BC & all flowers are Royal Icing.

I had these layers in my freezer and needed the space, so I iced them up and took it to work to give away. Nothing spectacular, but wanted to use my scroll presses for the first time.

This cake was frosted in whipped cream, then fondant rose petals were laid carefully in place. Two white doves were piped on the top. She loved it.

Cake covered with fondant and the rose petals are gum paste, dusted with pink dust. The couple is made from polymer clay as the customers want to keep it. Ribbon is a real textile one.

My daugher and I made this for our mothers day gathering. She's only 8, but she worked her bottome off on this. She made all the leaves and half of the flower petals. She even helped bake the cake. I'm so proud of her. It was a bannana cake with bannana cream filling and bannana butter frosting - it was sooo yummy! The decorations are fondant.

This is my first attempt at icing a petal cake. It's not as easy to ice the sides as I thought it would be...anyway, this cake was a big experiment. I tried out my #95 on the bottom border and really like the frilled top/ribbed bottom effect that it had. I used my #74 leaf tip for the lines and rosettes. Also, I tried using a #63 for the center flower's petals with a #347 for the stamen. My icing had air bubbles, so try to ignore that---I figured it didn't matter since it was a practice cake.

Copied this from a brides' picture. Everything done in buttercream except ribbon. I learned something from this cake about stacking squares on rounds...can you guess what it is???

This buttercream creation was a mixture of round and petal shaped cakes. The dimension were 6" scallop, 8" round, 12" scallop and 15" round. The cake was then accented with a monogram topper and fresh flowers provided by the bride.

A dummy cake made for a bridal expo this weekend. The topper is a 6 inch petal shape, covered in ivory fondant with flowers made from modelling paste and royal iced vines, leaves and centres. Each cupcake was covered in a circle of fondant and then decorated with gumpaste floers and butterflies and royal icing vines and leaves.

First attempt at a fondant wedding cake. The bride requested VERY simple look - not a lot of decoration. It made us very nervous since we would have no way to cover our fondant mistakes! But, it actually went much better than we had anticipated - and that never happens!

This is from the 95 Wilton Book for my future DIL's shower. Made with petal pans which I found very difficult to ice smooth & still keep the integrity of the pan shape. Daisies are royal with pearl luster dust centers. Rest all BC. Botton cake Funfetti (bride's request), top French Vanilla w/Choc Bav Cream filling. She was very pleased.

Didn't turn out exactly as I planned and I just couldn't get the fondant to mold around the petal shape cakes properly :-(. 6in lemon cake with lemon buttercream on top of 9in strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream. Covered in fondant, painted with glacier blue luster dust and then decorated with hand-rolled fondant pearls, borders and roses painted with inca gold luster dust. I am having a high tea tomorrow and will post a pic of the whole table when set up (lots of cakes!).

This wasn't supposed a stacked cake, but a week before the wedding the stands still hadn't arrived and things changed quickly.
I used the regular dowl supports for the satalite cakes and the hidden separator plates for the the main.
