This birthday cake was a very rich hazelnut cake with Chocolate-Kalua mousse and iced with a white chocolate mousseline buttercream laced with cognac. The design was inspired by drawings in an Art Deco/NeuVeaux book.

Pale blue fondant with Royal blue stenciling, red gumpaste peacock, gumpaste flowers and fan.

This was the cake I entered in Tulsa for the wedding cake competition in October, 2006. I managed to get a silver medal, not a very high score with that, but silver nevertheless.

My 13 year old stepdaughter's only request for her cake was to use my "peacock" (blue/green) disco dust. I couldn't think of anything better to make with it. The peacock is a big rice crispy treat. Most of the decorations are buttercream - the "eyes" on the tail are rice paper with edible markers, piping gel and luster dust.

140 cupcakes made with buttercream icing. The theme was music because the groom is a musician and the bride wanted peacock also in the theme because those were her colors. The white cupcakes had music notes on them, the green and blue cupcakes had gumpaste guitar picks on top of them that said Ed and Jan. And to top off the top cupcake had two guitars on it!

These are the peacock version of my 3D turkeys. Originally, I did them months ago, but the pictures were too fuzzy to use. So I had a couple plain cookies sitting in the freezer and was able to do them again. The marshmallow middles are iced with the same cookie glace as the cookies are decorated with.

This one was challenging. Tried painting fondant for the first time,
not sure I went about it the easiest way. Any helpful tips would be
wonderful. But sis loved the cake regardless!

Here's my first ever competition cake! It's for the Butler County Fair which starts tomorrow....I'll comment if I win (the prize is 5 whole dollars!). The peacock is gumpaste and a lot of luster dust, flowers are gumpaste and the rest is royal . It's on a dummy, which is why it is so nice and round (which my real cakes never are)!

8", 10", 12" and 14" different chocalate cakes. Covered in fondant, used daisey cutters for flower pattern to resemble the invitations. Paisley patter on slanted stripes of fondant, piped royal icing accents and hand painted with pearl dust diluted in clear vodka. A real big challange but really enjoyed the final product. Everyone was in awe including the bride, so mission accomplished!!!!

Based on a photo the bride provided, the cake was designed in a teal/turquoise blue buttercream with dark blue scrolls accented with gold candies. A cluster of peacock feathers bloom from the top, and several feathers line the base of the bottom cake.

This cake was for my brother-in laws wedding. This is the first time I've ever worked with gumpaste making the calla lillies and it's the biggest cake I have ever done. It is made with mmf. I am very pleased with how well it turned out.

I had so much fun with this cake. The bride wanted peacock feathers (which are sticking out the top and you can't really see them in this photo) and she wanted deep purple, pale purple and sage green. I was really nervous about the colour combination, but it turned out wonderfully. Other then that, she just asked for fun and original. She loved it. It is white cake and lemon cake with buttercream and fondant decorations.

This was an assymetrical cake iced in pale blue buttercream with gold vinework, royal icing roses and blossoms, and shades of blue/green daisies and 5-petal blossoms. In the background of the photo, you can see the peacock I made for the top of the cake. Once at the location, the peacock was placed and the feathers of the bird, trailed down the side of the cake where the flowers are.

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, colored golden and sprinkled with gold/bronze pearl dust. Any suggestions for getting pearl dust on the vertical surfaces would be appreciated, as this was my first attempt. Fondant peacock and peahen with icing "lace" decorations. Thanks for looking!

Buttercream only on sheet cake (dummy sheet cake). This was inspired by a patchwork quilt or maybe scrapbook not sure what the original medium was. I entered it in the Austin Cake Show 2009. I took 1st in Beginner Buttercream.
