This was my first attempt with a diamond or quilted pattern. I used the plastic impression that is available which made it easy. The bride wanted no more than 2 inches between tiers so I used styrofoam to separate and insert the roses into. Problem was that the stems were pretty flaccid and it took a while to insert them!

This was a fun cake to make and was inspired by pictures on cake central. I made it for
my sisters birthday and she loved it. Thanks for the great ideas!

The bride liked straight lines and clean edges. The groom liked swirls and flowing edges. They compromised on this design. The flower arrangement is silk.

This cake was entered in the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show when the theme was a china pattern. The flowers took me more than six weeks to make! There's that obsessive-compulsive thing again! :)

The string work was painted with gold after the strings dried. I normally use almond extract to make gold paint. Bad idea when painting on Royal!! It destroyed the first set of strings. I can't remember how many times I made those stupid strings.

I wanted to share my baby shoe pattern. It is a good pattern for a beginner because that is what I am!
I made them from all fondant but now I would make them 50/50 fondant gumpaste.
You can see them in my gallery if you want to see the finished product ...it is the pair of white shoes not the single one..that was the bad prototype...
I hope you enjoy the pattern and if you have questions, please give me a shout.

This was a practice cake for my brother's wedding. They wanted four square cakes. So, they were all in this design. I can not believe I didn't get a picture of the finished cakes at the reception.

cut from 12x18 sheet.

Parts B and D must be flipped upside down (top of cake becomes bottom)

may want to trim off the points of "sholders"

This cake is iced smooth with buttercream. Used some Wilton pattern presses to design the red scrolls and then accented with black dots. Still trying to perfect my scrolls...wish I could do it without the guidance of the press! Oh, silk roses sit atop the cake.

LOL!! I made this 6" doctored white cake with Buttercream for the Superbowl for my husband. He wanted something else, but this is from the leftover batter from my Roses cake and I used up old frosting that I had. I was trying to make one of the southwestern cakes, but this is what happened!!

My brother wished for "a normal cake or two" for his birthday.
After many attempts to find out what "normal" means it turned out that he ment white bottoms.
I special ordered from England for this cake, but with my luck it didn't make it here in time (Sweden) so I had to manage with what I had at home.
Strawberry and white chokolate mousse inside, covered with marzipan and flowers in gum paste.
The golden pattern on the side I painted free handedly with a thin brush.
Made 2 same looking cakes.

This was the first cake I made for class, the week before Valentine's Day. I used the pattern transfer to get the picture on top. The best part was that it was chocolate cake with peanut butter filling! YUM!! ;-)

This was a heart cake I made in honor of Valentine's Day for my husband in cake decorating class. We used cookie cutters to form the imprint of the heart, did the border around the heart in shells, then piped stars to fill in the heart. I then piped hearts around the sides, and did a shell border around the top and bottom. I did small dots at the base of the shells to add a little extra. I didn't bake this cake (in short - up all night, cake fell on floor before class, instructor let me decorate hers).

A friend ordered this for her friend's birthday party this weekend. They wanted an 80's theme cake and gave me this pattern. More of a hippie type theme, but they are happy with it. 2 layer french vanilla cake with reg. bc icing. I'm actually really disappointed, didn't turn out how I wanted. I ended up getting food poisioning the day I started working on this. Needless to say, I was up for a LONG time getting this done.

this is for a girl who is a tomboy and plays a lot of sports. Her mom wanted something girly and she wanted something with sports so I added the balls on the top to reflect the sports she plays (basketball, softball and bowling). Purple and gold are her school colors and what she wanted. The balls didn't dry very well so they were a little squished but she still liked it. All fondant and/or gumpaste

My two best friends are twin sisters... they both love purple and white. makes it really easy to decorate for them. :) This was my first time using the pattern presses. I was very rushed to finish this cake... it was a last minute deal, and unfortunately, it fell over during transport to their house for the party, so it didn't look very nice when it got there. This was last year.

This is a wedding cake i had to make for a couple who had organized their wedding party in a Zoo.
It had to be a Zebra cake, so i invented a Zebra like pattern with sugarpaste.
The fillings were all jamaican rum.
