This cake was made for a 3yr old boy celebrating his birthday on the 4th of July. The bear was baked in the stand up bear pan and was placed on a star cake with cupcake accents. The bear's hat and bowtie were made of fondant.

Basketweave isn't just for easter and wedding cakes! I used it to create a fun and colorful patriotic cake. The cake and roses are done in buttercream. I used the spatula striping technique for the roses and wilton's firework cupcake pics to add some sparkle.

I made this cake very last minute for a 4th of July get together with friends. I was having continuous (!!!) trouble with my MMF - it kept ripping. I was running out of time so, I just decided to cover the rips with icing...not the most beautiful cake ever, but it managed to work out. Still got compliments. Happy 4th of July!

I bought the checkered board pan and this was a great reason to test it out! I was short on time so it didn't turn out quite like I wanted it to (it never does!!) It is White cake Buttercream icing under MMF. Fireworks on top BC, Fireworks on sides MMF.

Cake I just finished for a 70th BD. No name on the cake yet, want to make sure I get it right so I'll finish on site. The cake is vanilla with buttercream frosting. The Navy insignia is a combo of fondant and BC. The flag is fondant (rather easy to do--I was surprised).

1/2 Sheet cake with all buttercream icing. I was very happy with the way it turned out and the soldier and his family were impressed with the eagle.

I really enjoyed making this cake! -And in the process I learned, yet, another valuable lesson. It takes a lot of Wilton food coloring paste to make red! And it tastes horrible unless you use the "No taste" red! Better yet, go to your local cake supply store and buy the red icing already mixed up!

My 2nd fondant cake. I auctioned it off and made about $15! It was a humid day and by the end of it, almost all the royal icing stars had fallen off! It was a lot of fun to make.

This is the second cake I made for a General's retirement ceremony. the bottome was 12" round and then 10" round for the top. All Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. The gazebo was made using royal icing for the roof and sides, gumpaste for the stars and swags. Royal icing for the piping and strings. The stars are painted with gold luster dust. This one was fun to make!

This was a prize cake for last month's Patriotic Bunco party (it was the week between Flag Day and Memorial Day). It's a chocolate cake with fondant flag and camouflage. The person who dressed "most Patriotic" won this.

I had thought up this cake after taking course 1, and it came out even better than I had imagined. I really wanted to do something different and since I love the 4th of July (especially the colors), this is the end result. My instructor was so great and really helpful; she let us just run with our imaginations.

Done for a woman my mom works for. Her mom's birthday is on the 4th (so is my moms!) All buttercream. Don't really care for the top border, but I had planned to put fondant stars in each circle on the border, then decided it would just be too much.

This was for my mom's birthday on the fourth of July. Definately not my best. I was really disappointed how this one turned out. I let my 4 year old decorate the sides because I just wasn't happy with it, and I figured what the's for grandma, have fun! And he did!

My dad's birthday is July 4, but we had a small party (like, 5 of us LOL) today - I think he was pretty floored. Everything is done in MMF, I had to run the stars straight up on the top tier because I had major problems with it cracking. I airbrushed some of the stars with a mix of lustre dust and vodka (although not sure I recommend it as it clogs a little). The large MMF stars that said Happy Birthday Dad, well, one busted on the way to the house so I skipped them - shows detail better though. :)

This was very last minute - DH told his mother I'd make one for their party on Saturday - WITHOUT asking me first!? (Our house is a construction zone right now) grrrrrrr Anyway - I went ahead and did it, with some suggestions from a few of you here and on another board. Left half is chocolate sour cream cc's, right half is red velvet - cream cheese icing all over. This went really quickly and I think I'm now hooked on these little ccc's! Thanks for looking!
