This is a cake that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday yesterday. She used to work with elephants at the zoo, hence the inspiration for the cake. It is a mocha cake with Bailey's Irish Cream filling. The details are piped in chocolate and the palm trees are Pirouette cookies with buttercream leaves.

This cake was made for a guy's 50th Birthday Bash. Obviously, it was a Hawaiian Themed Party! I got the idea from a Debbie Brown book and just embellished it a bit.

This was for a girls 18th birthday. She just got a tattoo of a hibiscus. I got this idea from CC. Thanks!! The girl liked it so much she wouldn't let anyone cut it. She wanted to freeze it and serve the second cake they got from a grocery store. I couldn't get a clear picture of the sides but the sides have grass all the way around.

My sister-in-law (shes 9yrs old) picked this out from the 2007 Wilton Yearbook. Its a yellow cake, with BC frosting. I didn't have time to make royal icing so I did the monkey with BC.

This cookie was my entry into the county fair. I took second place (I was dissapointed). The palm tree and person are gumpaste and fondant. The flowers are royal icing. The beach is brown sugar. The person was 1/2 inch tall. Everything was then handpainted.

My customer found a picture of a cake on the internet that she wanted me to recreate for her. This was my take on it. The tiers are 7" and 11", the "sand" is graham cracker crumbs. The palm trees are purchased decorations. My customer had a little hula girl and a surfboard to add to the cake but unfortunately I didn't have them for the photo.

12 in round 3 layer with cherry filling and butter cream icing. Top of cake is a pannel of fondant with a "water color painting" of the couples wedding invitation. I couldn't get the painting quite right, so my mom, who is a much better artist than me, did it with food color. The couple was thrilled! They only wanted a small "wedding" style cake due to a large grooms cake (will post) and a chocolate fountain.

Thanks for looking!!!

I had a hard time with the palm trees b/c the palms are all made out of royal icing and they kept breaking on me. The rocks are fondat and the flowers are roayl icing. The rest is buttercream on vinilla cake with cream cheese in the middle. All in all I still liked the way this cake came out.

Cake made from several differnt size rounds, then shaped. Covered in Store bought chocolate frosting then Oreo cookie crumbs. Then piped on colored BC "lava". Island made from sugar colored with powdered brown food coloring and other processed cookies. Palm Trees made from candy melts cut in thirds then attatched to a whole one with more melted chocolate. Attach to lollipop stick with melted choco, and I filled mini candy cups with melted choco and balanced the lolli palm trees in them until cool.

This was for a 65th birthday. She absolutely loved it. I know the flip flops are not to scale but I meant it that way. I wanted it to be like a big centerpiece on top of the cake. Everything is edible except the flowers on the columns. The flip flops are cake covered in fondant. I had a little problem with that. I put them in the freezer and when they defrosted the fondant got all weird. Oh well, lesson learned. Overall, I'm really happy with the results.

I made this cake for my son's 7th birthday. Everything is edible. This is my first attempt at a hand made figure, and I am quite happy with how he turned out. The cake is a half sheet size, shells are fondant pressed into a candy mold, trees were made with a clay gun and leaves were made with a leaf cutter. Boats were hand cut, clay gun to add accents. Blue piping gel for the water look. Crushed butter cookies for the sand

Birthday cake for Snoopy-loving parrothead. Fondant flowers, palm leaves and figures. Palm trees are fondant covered pretzel rods. The pretzel of the third palm tree got too soft in the cake and broke ... this was my very first "fancy" cake decorating project.

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. They are doing the baby boy's nursery with a safari theme, so I based the entire shower off that idea. The cake is filled with the absolutely scrumptious whipped chocolate ganache filling from this website, and covered in MMF. All the animals and the trees are made by hand out of chocolate clay; the grass and water are buttercream.

I made this for my husbands cub scout group for the blue and gold dinner. It was a hawiian theme. Thanks to Shelbur10 who let me borrow her tiki hut idea. Although mine does not look as good as her's. The poor palm tree kept loosing leaves. I hope it stays together long enough for the kids to dig in!

I found this cake on Wilton.com, called Lavable Dinosaurs. I made it for my son's 1st birthday. The volcano is mini-wonder mold, iced with butter cream and topped with piping gel. The dinosaurs are color flow, and the palm trees are royal icing. The 6" is marble cake with Raspberry Filling, and the others are chocolate cake with raspberry filling.
