A very special cake for a very special little boy who was born prematurely to a dear friend and they were afraid he would never come home. My friend asked me to do an octopus cake for his first birthday. This was the result.

This cake was a special order from a client...she sent me a pic and asked could I do it, and I said yes. I did almost exactly what the pic looked like, fondant creatures, buttercream icing. I would have added some kelp and "waves" for the borders, but I did not want to vary from the pic she I did not. I think I will do it again and do it the way that I would have and see how it turns out....thanks for looking!

My 2nd attempt at modelling again using the fondant, pretty pleased with this one considering my lack of experience. For my nephew who was into Finding Nemo at the time, one of the fish is coloured as Nemo and the kids did find it. Cake is my secret recipe brownie cake.

A birthday cake I made for a 2 year olds party. French Vanilla cake with raspberry filling and decorator cream cheese frosting. Starfish are fondant and all other decorations are the cream cheese frosting.

my first vegan cake!! used the ball pan to make the body and rice krispie treats to make the tentacles with vegan marshmallows!! i thought the marshmallows tasted pretty nasty by themselves but not half as bad with rice krispies. the forsting turned out a little too sweet so if anyone has a good vegan frosting recipe id greatly appreciate it.
this was for my roomates birthday and so i had to bake the cakes in the middle of the night and then forst it in my room the next day - quite a challenge!

Chocolate fudge cake with buttercream icing. Buttercream covered straws for 'sails'. After following some pretty weak instructions on making a pirate ship, i found my cake completely falling apart in the fridge...slowly cracking apart. After a five minute stress break, I realized that i could make a squid attacking the ship. Everyone thought i meant for the ship to be broken apart like that. It worked out great in the end and my 5 year old son just loved it!

This was my daughter's class cake for a cake auction at her school. I had each kid in her class cut and pick a sea animal out of fondant, paint it, then go back and draw faces and accents on them. We also made the seashells out of fondant using molds then painted those as well. We won first place and the cake sold for $320. The kids were so proud!!!!! It was a pretty proud moment for me as well. Thanks to CC!!!

Made this for my son's end of year party. The octopus is a gluten free cake for the little girl in his class. It was a big hit. I had to redo the eyes and one leg last minute since my son decided to take them. LOL

My latest order. The customer chose an odd assortment of animals. This just happened to be one of the trays as it was drying. My apologies for the fuzzy photo.
