"6" and "5" each carved from a 9X13 yellow cake. Iced in buttercream with fondant and white chocolate decorations. I must thank DianeLM from the LC site for this wonderful idea! It has milestones of her life from her birth, her kids and grandkids, favourite past time, marriage and retirement.

Our youngest daughters 2nd birthday cake. Blue was a bit rich but made a good effect with the yellow. Poor photo due to lack of digital camera at time.

I made these for my son's preschool open house. They are No-fail sugar cookies with royal icing. Each parent was asked to bring 2 dozen home made cookies. I knew that there would be hundreds of chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies so this is what I came up with. They really stood out, I was pleased.

I love number and letter shaped cakes when the parents don't know what they want! This dad wanted "something to do with music" but I couldn't figure anything out on such short notice, and it was a donation on the same day as a wedding cake so I didn't want anything too intricate...anyways, it was a hit! Iced in bc.

I made this cake for my son's first birthday. I decorated it like the Number one that was on the invitations that I sent out. It is buttercream icing with fondant letters and dots. I really had fun decorating it. This was my second time to use fondant.

Baked this cake for my son to celebrate his 7th birthday with his classmates in school. Borrowed the idea from a book but altered the design to resemble 2 pieces of logs put together & topped with 7 spiders. Spiders, webs & dried leaves are made of chocolates.

Woohoo....I'm so excited. This was my first carved cake. I've never carved a cake in shapes before and I finally got to do it. Thanks to Doug for supplying me with the instructions on how to carve number cakes. It was very simple.

Baked this cake on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of a charitable organisation. It turned out to be very feminine with the pink & heart sugar candies.

I did this cake for my aunties 54th birthday. My grandfather asked me to do the cake and let me decide what to do on it. He just wanted the numbers. She loves gardening so I stuck with that theme. I was pretty happy with it.

This is my first cake. I made it for my son's 2nd birthday. I got the idea from a user here and had tons of fun making it. I used butter cream icing and black sugar sprinkles for the road. I tried to find smaller cars but had no luck. I ended up using a hot wheels car. As you can see I had a little trouble piping the lines in the road. They didn't want to adhere to the sugar sprinkles.

This really simple yellow 12x18 sheet cake, with vanilla BC, will be used in a photo shoot tomorrow for the 90th Anniversary Edition of the Capel Rugs catalog. This is an international rug manufacturer/importer and their catalog goes worldwide. It will be photographed with the Capel family surrounding it. I'm excited! Thanks for looking.

We made this cake for practice and for an anniversary gift for my parents. It was our first time making a 3 tiered cake with dowels. We learned a lot!!! It was frosted in BC with fondant leaves, that were hand painted, and fondant numbers. It was fun and a learning experience!
